Yeah, largely in agreement. I don't mind an angry promo if it's what's needed. Always thought Foley was quite decent at those sorts actually. But when you see Ric Flair gyrating violently and busting himself open and just ranting and raving like an idiot it's just horrible. And then you cut backstage....to Abyss with Jeremy Borash...who does the exact same thing. I know to an extent Abyss should be allowed to get away with this, as he is the "insane nutjob" or whatever, but it's just so totally unbelieveable. If they want to make someone look a bit of a weirdo then take a look at the early Mankind promos Foley did ffs. The whole Kennedy/Anderson and Kurt Angle thing was just dreadful as well, I know it's the USA, but holy crap how many times have we seen these awful pseudo-patriotic storylines? They are as a rule, always horrible, and this is not even close to an exception. Particularly seeing as these types of angles have usually only been used to put over really lower/midcard performers who then tank massively, so why the hell they are putting Mr Kennedy who is probably one of their brightest prospects into one. And another thing (didn't mean to rant this much) is the horrible use of Eric Young, his character was one of the better and more fresh parts of TNA before Hogan came in, now he is being wasted horribly in order to make up the numbers/carry the matches for the whole Nash/Hall/Waltman thing, and it's just awful. The more I think about it the more it annoys me. And this is the credible alternative to WWE? Sorry, it's not even a credible alternative to what TNA was about 4 months ago.
Agree with you here. The Ken Anderson and Kurt Angle feud has been cringeworthy. The best thing to come out of this feud was Kurt Angle's emotional promo in the ring a couple of weeks ago. But the referencing of the troops and the patriotism is just blah.

Eric Young was one of the best things going for TNA before Hulk Hogan came in. The way Eric Young has been brushed aside is awful. He went from being a lovable, comedic lower mid card character to a cunning, intelligent and legitimate heel. That is not an easy thing to do and Eric Young did it so well!

The World Elite was a fantastic idea and I thought was executed really well. Whoever thought up of putting Bashir, Kyoshi (where is he now?), Doug Williams, Brutus Magnus, Rob Terry and Eric Young as the leader was a genius. I was really looking forward to watching them grow as a group, but since Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff arrived, they just abandoned that whole concept. Idiots.

Agree with you both on the most part except that you can't go wrong with a ranting and raving Ric Flair. It was the bleeding I could have done without. Sad state of affairs when someone who is practically a pensioner is the best promo guy in the company.
Disagree here. Anything Ric Flair is involved with now is cringeworthy. After seeing Ric Flair go against his word after receiving one of the greatest honours in professional wrestling and one of the greatest send off's in history he's nothing but a hypocrite to me now. Chris Jericho was right all along.

No, you're right but a Flair promo is like a guilty pleasure to me. Not a patch on his works in his prime but still the best thing in TNA for me. He's a hypocrite for getting in the ring, I didn't have a major problem with him being Styles' manager though.

Waltman picks up Young and hits the X Factor. Hall hits the outsider's edge, and Waltman makes the pin, with Hall on top, getting the three count.

Winners and the newest members of the TNA roster: Scott Hall and Sean Waltman
Haha, oh dear.

You missed the bit where Nash turned on Young. WHAT A SHOCKER.

Don't get me started on how the main event finished. Haven't seen it yet and I don't like to judge events without watching - but I don't want to watch this ****

Interesting, why did you think that?

Shawn's promo was amazing, the rest did it's job. Exactly what the go-home show should have been, without being spectacular.

To be fair I fell asleep after a while. Didn't think Shawns promo was anything amazing actually. Quite dull I thought and I really wasn't feeling the Cena Batista hype up at all.

Each to their own, I thought it was VINTAGE Shawn

Heel Batista has been rocking my world as well. I legit wanna see him get destroyed because he's such an arse!

I didn't think the promo video was very good for Batista v Cena.

Meh, I wouldn't take much notice of me. I don't like anything much in the WWE now.

Did you see Batista's actual promo though or were you asleep by then?

No, look, you're entitled to your opinion, would be boring if we all agreed :)

umm. I watched the wrestlemania hype up video of the feud. Is that the same one? Didn't think Batista was great shakes on the mic anyway?

tbh we're definitely not going to agree. I've seen you defend Cena/Batista numerous times in this thread and I have a rather low opinion of them.

Also, HBKs promo, vintage yes, but also repetitive. 'This is not the end, this is the beginning'. so poor. he's way better than that.

Batista isn't great on the mic, his recent heel work has been though. No it's not the same, at the end of Raw him and Cena had a confrontation. Cena wasn't at his best but Batista was great.

HBK - I liked the "I can do anything" approach and his heelish facial expressions. Loved the DVD reference as well because it kind of played on the non-kayfabe aspects, i.e. people saying "Shawn's defo losing that's why that DVD's out"

Just watched NXT. As you'd expect, mainly focused on building Mania, the two matches were decent. The Daniel Bryan storyline continues. When he finally gets that win, it's gonna be special, and hopefully it will be against The Miz. And no people, he isn't being buried.

Just been reading some bits and pieces. Apparently Triple H's Mania record is 6-8, he must be worse at politicking than everybody thought

That wasn't at Mania you tool :p
Haha I know, was just throwing it in there.

On a side note, just had a look at the reports for this week's and next week's Impact. Though it doesn't look too bad, there is nothing there that gets a reaction from me that can be described as anything more than total apathy. Cba to watch. Even if Mick Foley has been "fired"....again...
