Yep Kallis, Tendulkar, Hayden etc leading but there are also likes of Tiwary, Uthappa, Pathan etc.

On the bowling front warne and kumble have been very economical, which is almost as important as taking wickets. Add Gilchrist to the batsman also imo.
If you consider how old some of these guys are, and how they should actually be less experienced when it comes to 20/20 than the present lot, it really puts things in perspective.

Or an alternative viewpoint would be, the class of these experienced Internationals. They might have taken two IPLs to come to it, but finally they are at home with the T20 territtory. I believe T20 is no more "the youngster's game" as it is touted to be. In fact, the considerably lesser workload (on avg about 20-30 balls to bat and 24 deliveries to bowl), with the baggage of the experience they are having, it's not that surprising.

I guess, but it makes you wonder what these guys would've been like playing this format in their pomp. Puts current standards under question imo.

Very true. He's a changed bowler this season and especially in the last 3-4 games.
Loving Jumbo's captaincy. The ol'd headmaster stare and rebukes at Manish Pandey brought back such good memories!

They are in their pomp in this edition. I haven't ever seen Tendulkar scoring consistently at near 150 SR, Kallis hitting at 125 (mind you they are playing other Internationals as well not just the locals). Hence this IPL has generally been of "better" quality than the earlier ones. Because the silly slogs have now been replaced by perfectly text book strokes. Sachin, one of the leading run scores in the tournament has not hit a single sixer yet shows it needn't be "reduced" to a six hitting competition. Kumble bowling wronguns at no more than his usual speed all thrown up and not darted in, Steynjie bowling at 150 kmph, Malinga's accuracy in terms of yorkers, all these have been really near test quality u=if not it. T20 is evolving as the element of the unpredictable and uncontrollable are getting brought down to manageable levels.

Dire! Atleast the karbaaan kamaaaal kaaaatch had some context. This is just ridiculous.
Can't imagine the situation when the new teams come up. They have got to recover such costs that I'd imagine batsmen pulling off ads from their pocket and displaying them. Or ads after every ball.
