Fantastic Smackdown tonight. Loads of hype for Taker-Shawn (think it's gonna go on last, awesome), brilliant segment between Jericho and Edge, nice build for the tag match as well as a neat little continuation of The Miz-Daniel Bryan storyline, and Punk-Rey got some BRILLIANT work done. While I didn't care about the women's match, everything else fit nicely into the Mania plan.

As things stand my only concerns about Mania are the MITB being cluttered (hard to look past a McIntyre win now IMO) and the eventual Legacy match, not sure what that will be. All in all though, the card screams best Mania ever, the build has been fantastic, just so good.

WIth the MITB ppv upcoming it's strongly being rumoured that whoever the winner is will cash in their shot either later in the night (can't see it myself) or sometime in the very near future like the next RAW or whatever.

The question is, will the winner of the MITB this year be the first person to not win the WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Championship when cashing in? I hope not, but this could be another direction they go in.

Cashing in on the same night would be ridiculous, no need for that kind of overbooking at Mania, as well as the kayfabe reasons not to do it, i.e you'll have been in a ladder match

MITB PPV is not scheduled until July. It's usually cashed in by then.

When the two title matches are off the charts in terms of their importance like they are on this occasion I would agree. But I wouldn't have minded seeing it last year or indeed the year before that. Would agree that the one who wins it this time round will probably be the first to fail to pick up the gold after cashing in, which is a bit of a shame. But I can't really see anyone in the match picking up a World Title at this stage or in the near future, esspecially seeing as the E have already given Sheamus a monster push very recently.

Just watching Survivor Series 2000. Fairly average show but I've only got that and KOTR left from that year to watch (I watched them in the wrong order, will be watching 01 in order over a matter of months though I did WM17 over many beers a couple of months ago, am sure I could tolerate it one more time however :D). Anyway just wanted to express my disgust at a JR comment, I watched this show live, it annoyed me then, and it still annoys me now.

So the event took place a couple of weeks after the botched election that was the GWB rise to power, and it was in Florida where the ****up occurred. So Regal, naturally rips on them for not being able to elect a President properly.

At which point JR says, "what would he know about elections?"

Hahaha fairly ironic comment tbh. Regal almost certainly more in the know on the subject than the majority of the crowd one would expect.

Didn't they do the whole angle again a few years later?

He was in OVW wasn't he?
Can't remember it tbh but it does ring a bell. Perhaps around the time of Lesnar maybe? But yeah he was in OVW for quite a while iirc.

Edit: The OVW roster from around that time was pretty awesome actually, loads of talent, must have had some great matches. Wonder if you can get the footage anywhere.

Yeah, looked it up and it was in 03 with Brock that he did it

The OVW stuff I'm almost certain will be available on the net. Next time you're on messenger I'll help you out.

Watched Raw just for the last segment, so, so good. Just being able to watch the interaction between Vince, Austin and Bret again, not to mention how quality the segment was in itself, sent me straight back in the day, felt like I was 15 again. Got the stupidest grin on my face now, that was so awesome. Can't wait for Wrestlemania, will be watching it in Tokyo with my best mate. Gonna be genius.
