I hate the way commentators (NZ in particular) have got so ahead of themselves with acceptable scoring rates these days.

Carrying on as if 275 is a poor score/some awesome bowling effort is laughable. Also, Southee bowled absolute tripe today and it seemed as though the commentators decided before he bowled his death spell that they were just going to call him awesome regardless of what he did...all based on a "great performance" where he went 11 an over!

True, but it depends on the context. In today's context, 275 is a very attainable score.

tbh that's a pretty meaningless comment

275 has always been an attainable score. It's also always been a good score. Regardless of conditions it is also always a very defendable score with good bowling and fielding.
