Streetwise
Banned
Thanks for the considered response SJS, I'm happy to abide by the rules and mods and usually respond in the manner I'm treated like most people and thats why its important to treat everyone the same.
I have incrimminating evidence of child porn on the mods. Thats why I escaped a permaban for insulting Streetwise.
Personally I can't get remotely upset over anyone who means nothing to me calling me names, it matters not a jot whether it's on the internet or face-to-face. What I don't take kindly to is people attempting to undermine my integrity, either face-to-face or on the internet, and it's always enjoyable to see such types being punished for attempting to do so. I can mete out the punishment myself if it's face-to-face; on CW the punishment largely needs to be meted-out by others. To me being insulted on the net is akin to being tickled, I just cant get upset over someone who does not know me calling me names
Better the Richard you know, than the Richard you don't.Purge the mods and perma ban anyone who has over 10,000 posts and then start again. Year Zero.
This is a fair point and I do agree - that said I think for most this issue is essentially an entertaining "Where's Wally" type game that precam's own conduct has inevitably led to - personally I always liked the bloke and I know I'm not alone in that so I don't believe such accusations are hostile but new members aren't going to know that so yes, it should stopI don't know how much it applies to CC but the he is precam finger pointing really has to stop.If someone has a genuine concern that a particular poster is a banned user,I am sure they can take it up with the mods separately instead of pointing fingers at every new user and sometimes not so new users. The most disheartening thing is the fact that it is the so called senior members who are doing it.And I am of the opinion that no poster should be allowed to say so and so thread is irrelevant etc even if the poster has 80000 postsThe mods can always lock or merge threads as necessary.
Sorry as someone who has time and again been accused of being precam by pratters, I can tell you that it isn't remotely entertaining my friend.I really hope mods are more strict on the said issue because a poster really shouldn't be allowed to get away just because he is "senior". Accusing someone of being someone else for no rhyme or reason even when they post a topic strictly related to cricket is nothing short of trolling. This is a fair point and I do agree - that said I think for most this issue is essentially an entertaining "Where's Wally" type game that precam's own conduct has inevitably led to - personally I always liked the bloke and I know I'm not alone in that so I don't believe such accusations are hostile but new members aren't going to know that so yes, it should stop
All true, but I think India vs. Pakistan on these boards has cooled down a lot more than back in 2006 and 2007.There is another thing.
Nationalistic fervour is fine and is what makes following a sport with passion so worthwhile and rewarding but people need to draw a line. This applies particularly to people whose countries have a history of conflicts. (
There are some great posters from both India and Pakistan on CW and most of them exercise great moderation and tact in such matter but as one finds all over the net their are those who wear their 'conditioning' (for thats all it is) on their shirt sleeves, their lips and their key-boards. This is one of the worst things we can do for this forum for ourselves and our respective countries. I come from a generation that has much more cause for being embittered by the past but thank God thats not the case.
Please do not do this.
If someone else does it, please do not react. It only makes things worse. Negative passions and fervours (of all types be it nationalistic, religious or any other) feed of each other. Stop this and trust me you will feel much lighter for that getting that baggage off your back.
PS : And its not the patriotic duty of Indians to always vote against Pakistani cricketers and vice versa![]()
Of course they do. Its just that we as posters dont do so all the timeActually I think that the moderators do a brilliant job. You can't expect them to control every thread when they are online.
There might be something to this, I do believe the new members are given a far shorter leash for their behaviour than the veterans are too.Let's keep it simple...
CC lacks this concept: Give Respect and get respect....
Simply respect each other regardless of where one is from.
Not to mention the unimaginable lack of hospitality shown to new members...
Haha. Not Really.I think the problem is the mods, they seem to have different rules depending on how well they get on with the poster.
awtaactually i think that the moderators do a brilliant job. You can't expect them to control every thread when they are online.
I think this would be a great idea. I'm pretty much posting here out of addiction to this site.Purge the mods and perma ban anyone who has over 10,000 posts and then start again. Year Zero.
