Brilliant 1st session.

Bat first and bat long and bat big is the order of the 1st two days.

I had my doubts about Alviro's mental strength because he has always had the stroke-play but always gets out after a good start with a soft dismissal. But really well played by Alviro! I hope he can carry on now.

Interestingly, & I stand to be corrected, but didn't you venomously defend their bowlers when I suggested they didn't have a good enough bowling attack to be the undisputed no.1 side a couple of months back? May not have been you truth be told
I did defend the bowlers but not venomously. My point -

This is the first day of a test match. I don't think the match will be a draw as traditionally they aren't at Eden. Batting first in this situation with 1-0 up is almost equal to winning the series and the bowlers would have to dismiss RSA for less than 250 for them to have any chance. India's bowlers are good and effective but not outstanding. <250 is unlikely to happen but could have if it was a team like WIN bowling in the 90s with just Walsh and Ambrose, say.

After this performance from Alviro it looks like this test will be a big face-off between Prince and Duminy for the number 6 spot come the Windies series.

Petersens pull shot is such a shot as it always looks so dismissive and classy.

Plays his domestic cricket at the Wanderers so you need to have a good pull shot in the bag there.

It feeels so great to see Eden in action again...

Superb outfield, wonderful atmosphere - thats Eden, India's best Cricketing venue for sure!

Yes and it's beyond ridiculous that Nagpur has gotten more high-profile tests (4) in the last 7 years than Calcutta. Stop giving tests to empty stadiums in Nagpur!

Although coming back to the test, it's looking pretty grim. Don't think this four-man attack will be able to take 20 wickets. It's looking like either a 1-0 or 2-0 loss.

Unless someone raises his game, Ind is in trouble (remember a draw is as good as a loss for Ind) .... First session, not many overs gone and spin already in action 8-)
In last series SAF were 152/1 at one stage and then they were bundled out for 275 or something like that and Indian went on to winning the game!

You know your cricket, Seamup,
I would like to think so Pratters...lol

Just love the game and express my opinions on it.

I saw you were at the ground but decided not to go in. Naughty naughty...nah just kidding mate. I don't blame you if you have a Virender Sehwag in your line-up.
