As Gelman said, it shouldn't be a choice. It's like the BCCI deciding to field 12 players or something - it shouldn't be an option. If you want to be recognized as a Test match and want ICC umpires, etc, this is what you need to do.
Now there's an idea. Play 6 bowlers.

But seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if the BCCI could make that happen. There's a whole lot to be lost by casting India out of international cricket. Of course I'm not saying the BCCI would ever attempt to bend the rules of cricket in their favour, but I'm also not going to underestimate its influence.

Middle & leg, halfway up. The batsman was forward so that's why the ump gave it not out, would have been an easy out on appeal if the system was implemented.
Even so, It's too early in the test to speculate about the absence of the referral system costing India the series. It certainly wouldn't be the case if they get spanked by an innings again in this match will it?

Didn't say it will, I said I'd be really happy if it does. SL rightly won the series against Ind, which they wouldn't have otherwise without the referral system, and India threw a hissy fit.

That's after throwing a hissy fit in Australia for the same reason (being on the other side). So they introduced it, and when it yielded a fair result but against them this time, they got pissed. Hate that so much.

No, I think they both have a very different attitude to sport personally. Their's is foreign to me, so I'm probably biast against it.
Both lots are just very passionate about sport. Both support the home team loudly and vociferously and both hate the opposition. One lot just seems to engage in a heck of a lot more violence than the other...

TBF, those people don't care about the sport itself at all. They just engage in violence because they're bored and enjoy being part of a 'group'. Its a pretty small minority.
