*Official* South Africa in India

Decent first session from South Africa. Imperative that Amla sticks around as he looks to have the measure of the Indian spinners. Not confident in JP or the rest in getting the side up to 500.

Well I think it's a given SA will score 500+. The question is when they will declare. I think they ought to look to declare with about 10 overs left in the day, which would give them about 50 overs more. If they can add 177 more, that'll get them to 550. I don't think waiting until tomorrow is a great idea for a declaration.

I reckon Boucher should be in now in front of Duminy. Quick runs is what's needed. Yes Duminy can bat fast, but will he even try, cause he will not want to fail.

So seriously? Do SA want to bat into the third day? I think that would be a mistake. I mean I know they back Steyn and Morkel, and Indian batting lineup is going to be untested, but I would think that it still will likely take a while....

A draw works for India because they can maintain their ranking....South Africa needs to push for a win.
