Ordinarily I'd agree, but honestly can't see anyone capable of beating them in this draw. Chiudinelli?

Outside of the top four seeds, the draw would not look out of place on the Challenger circuit.

Maybe follow the girls and put the Davis Cup in the week after the Slam?
Ferrer and Monfils out in the semis :(

I guess at least Monfils lost to Lopez.

Tomic just won the Challenger in Burnie which will put him just outside of the world's top 200. Interesting also to see Fed Cup on TV for the first time in yonks.

Bit of betting discussion?

I've recently entered the wide world of sports betting, but have limited myself to fifty bucks all up otherwise I'll end up in debt haha.

Had Verdasco over Becker 2-1 at $4.10, but Becker blew a lead in the first set and went down in straights. Then had $5 on West Coast at 1-39 and $3 at $2.25 on Youzhny/Ferrero at $2.08 that came through for me, so I'm now six bucks up :) . Wish I'd put some dough on Istomin like I was going to against Kohlschreiber.

I think I'll stay well away from the girls because it is so unpredictable, but do you reckon there's any value in Michael Russell over Querrey at $3.22? I'm new to this caper.

Only bet on women's tennis in the big tournaments, i.e. Slams and major ATP events.

Michael Russell is pretty unpredictable, and Querrey has had some tennis now under his belt after his arm/wrist injury.

What site do you bet on by the way? Betfair? If so, you can trade (i.e. back and lay) and make a profit each way. Very good on tennis matches since odds change dramattically point by point.

Yep great call, got on him against Andrev.

Kubot has been solid for a while now :)

Btw, Soderling at 2.60 vs. Davydenko was awesome value. Glad I got on that.

Youzhny against Novak would have been value too but Youzhy is on my "never bet on" list after being burnt too many times.

Other names on the list:

Berdych
Blake
Robredo
Almagro
Andrev
Ginepri

Yeah, I bumped Kubot up to $3.37 with Ferrero over Mello, and that looks OK so far with Ferrero taking the first.

Youzhny served me well against Monfils, and I think he's actually a solid choice outside of Grand Slams and Masters. Good week for him too in Rotterdam, win or lose it should be a fairly solid boost for him.

Yeah but just when you think Youzhny is a good bet he'll lose to a random dud. :(

True though, he's often good value against top 20 players.

Roddick wins in 3, never broke Querrey (who out-aced him) but is just so ****ing clutch in tie breaks.

What a gun.

Amazing, though, because she went from having competitive wins in Australian $25K tournaments late last year to beating a Grand Slam semi finalist?

Poor day for Kubot in Costa do Sauípe, too. Lost the doubles final with Marach and god smashed by Ferrero one and love.

Oh, and Nalbandian makes what I think is his return against Starace. Hope he is able to make another go of it, because he's good to watch.
