Thamba I thought we made a deal I would score all the runs this season. You had five seasons of scoring all the runs.

Nice win there. Looks like Langley our missing piece in our squad.

 can't believe we lost that

Century and a 5fer on the plus side. Think that's the first time I've done that in the same match. Century from nine as well, pretty special. Would swap it for a better result though :(

Haha needed that challenge to chase down that total to kick start my season. Never give us a half a chance when you have myself, Bowen and Loganathan in the side, especially when someone useless like Bryce in the bowling attack.

Don't forget Mitchell.

Declaration was the right choice, Green just couldn't capitalise after 4 for **** all.

Not sure how "they were the better team" though. First innings was bugger all in it either. Green forgetting how much they got their **** pushed in by Bowen I think.

And how many Green wickets did your guys actually take? At no point would Blue have come close to winning that game.

You wouldn't have taken that many wickets in the 2nd innings, if we weren't going for slog chasing the runs. Could have quite easier batted out the overs from next to no wickets on that track. It is not like you guys had a 100 run lead in the first innings. You were that far ahead.

Ah geez, I'm slow to post in this thread - work and life have been insanely busy but hopefully things will smooth out now. Great to see us at the top of the table and hope to stay there. :D Great team, great results. Go Colts!

Cricketweb Colts vs Cricketweb Black

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Top of the table Colts hosted a so far below par Black in round four of the One Day competition, Colts came into the game unbeaten in this form of the game while for Black it was a 1 and 1 record, with all teams trying to get a headstart on the opposition every game is vital so this was no different.

Chris Butler won the toss for Colts and chose to bat first, Yngve Fjermestad who has been a revelation at the top of the order in the one day game got off to his usual attacking start, however he came unstuck on 34 just after the introduction of Blake Donald, veteran number three Daniel Towns lasted just two balls before becoming Donald's second victim. Butler was next in and again looked in good form, he was however run out for 36 and will be kicking himself for throwing away another good start, Will Kerr looked in horrible form as he struggled for 17 balls to make just 3 Zac Gelman was the bowler to eventually put him out of his misery. Through all this though Dan Rai playing his first game back from injury stayed strong, he was however the second Colt's player this season to finish with a score of 99 as Kevin Gough got one through his defences, the opener hit 8 boundaries in what was a largely patient innings. Callum Laing continued his good start to his career as the batting all rounder made a well compiled 58, he combined well with Marcuss Deane who made 31 of his own to get Colts into a strong position in this game. The home side finished their 50 overs with 292/8, Blake Donald with 4/48 was the pick of the bowlers.

Black would have backed themselves to chase down this total more often than not, but it was a shocking start as Ash Chaulk fell first ball of the innings to a peach of a delivery from Kyle Wright, the former Cricketweb XI star got one to hit the deck and seam away and just catch the edge of Chaulk's bat. Andrew Cloete joined James Stedman at the crease and the pair got things back on track with a 63 run stand, the introduction of Marcuss Deane was enough to break that partnership as Stedman fell for 32. The out of sorts Josh Ritchie was next in, he and Cloete put on a 61 run partnership of their own before this time Cloete was out, replayed showed he failed to slide his bat into his crease as Dan Rai broke the stumps as the bowlers end and the number three had to go. Dan Smith made 41 and Sam Morris battled for 29 but Black's middle order couldn't get on top of a disciplined bowling performance from Colts, Josh Ritchie also posted his best innings of the season with 92 not out, but at slower than a run a ball any chance of a Black victory was basically killed with a few overs to go. Black finished at 275/6 with Kyle Wright the only multiple wicket taker with 2/69. A 17 run victory to Colts making three wins on the trot.

Cricketweb Colts 292/8 (50)
DK Rai 99(133), CJ Laing 58(54), BC Donald 4/48

Cricketweb Black 275/6 (50)
JJ Ritchie 92*(112), AP Cloete 54(66), KS Wright 2/69

Cricketweb Colts won by 17 runs
Man of the Match: DK Rai (CW Colts)

Cricketweb Red vs Cricketweb Green
@ CW Oval

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

The ever improving Cricketweb Green travelled to the CW Oval to take on a Red outfit that is struggling for consistency, while both teams are in the bottom three its early days and a couple of straight wins would see either in the top two in a matter of a few games. Green were rocked by the late withdrawal of Ethan McNamara, the medium pacer looks set to be out of action for a number of weeks but this see's Josh Forner get his chance in the side.

Green won the toss and chose to bat first, in what has been an excellent start by their top order this season it wasn't to be Nick Scott and Andrew Garven's day today, both posted starts but Scott was out to Amir for a quickfire 24 and Garven to Robbins Jnr for 36, unfortunately for Red though that was all the excitement they were going to have in the opening 50 overs of this clash. Ben Red and Martyn Corrin came together with the score at 98/2 and when the pair strode of the field together after fifty overs the partnership was a mammoth 261 unbroken. Most watching would have agreed the pair could have kept batting for a week without getting out as the Red bowling line up struggled for penetration on their home ground, Red was the real star with a better than a run a ball 154 not out while for Corrin it was hundreds in consecutive matches after his efforts in last weeks First Class match, today he had 115 not out and was certainly not overshadowed by he more highly fancied partner. Green finished 359/2 with Robbins 1/45 the pick of a bad bunch with the ball.

It was always going to be a tough ask for Red to get anywhere near this total, first task was to deny Green the two bonus points and then to see if they could deny them even one before pushing for an unlikely victory. Josh Forner justified his call up with the early wicket of the in form Matt Luff while Rob Dauth and Mitch Rapp didn't hang around long either. At 36/3 it was a case of damage limitation for Red as they attempted to put some respectability to score, Callum Dinnen added 22 while Liam Goff made 19 as the middle order again struggled, good bowling changes from stand in skipper Martyn Corrin kept the scoring rate down and Red's job was virtually impossible when Swaranjeet Singh fell for 80. Marc Robbins Jnr and Ed Ames got together with the score at 161 and they showed their more experienced and apparently better credentialed team mates how to play on this wicket, they added 140 for the seventh wicket to ensure that Green were denied any bonus points at all. A final total of 301/6 showed how much of a superior side Green were on the day while it did give a fair indication of the fight showed by Red's lower order. Josh Forner bagged himself a couple of wickets in an enjoyable first hit out of the season, a 58 run win to Green.

Cricketweb Green 359/2 (50)
BS Read 154*(146), M Corrin 115*(100), MJ Robbins Jnr 1/45

Cricketweb Red 301/6 (50)
S Singh 80 (77), MJ Robbins Jnr 75*(65), E Ames 67*(100), JNE Forner 2/61

Cricketweb Green won by 58 runs
Man of the Match: BS Read (CW Green)
