Haha that's brilliant. So well-written.
Haha, I look forward to these games. It's the games against Liverpool that make me feel like THAT.Ha, I envy that. ****ing dreading it myself.
But Article 80 in the CAF regulations allows for extraordinary circumstances like this. It's not like Togo had a hissy fit and grabbed their ball and went home, they were ****ing shot at, two staff members are dead and their reserve goal keeper is still in a critical condition in South Africa. Not surprisingly Sepp Blatter has been absent on this issue.Key part bolded.
According to CAF, no government should have no say in what happens with football teams, regardless of the ethics of the situation. Considering how certain African dictatorships are run, I can sort of see the point here. This is also a position supported by FIFA; hence the Kenyan team was banned from the last World Cup as the politicians waded into the hornets' nest that is the Kenyan Football Federation. As the Togolese government had issued a command to go home, this is seen as a provocation to CAF, and hence the ridiculous length of the ban.
(now, if the Togolese government had said "we advise the squad to go home on safety grounds", and the Togolese federation ha agreed with "we're following the advice of security experts and our own government", then it would have been different. I think.)
I really don't give a ****. It's bull, and nothing you can say will convince me otherwise.Yeah because you know about the conditions of getting information outside of what I saw in the news back then. Will swear it on a bible, Qur'an, Torah, firing squad, etc.

I think we've got a real chance today and if we win then I think we've got a real chance come May. Even if we don't win I don't actually think it's the end of the world as long as we win our next 2.Ha, I envy that. ****ing dreading it myself.
Well, all things being equal, we shouldn't lose. United somehow continue to be better in reality than they look on paper tho.The chance for the good to overcome evil?
We've become a bit of a solid outfit, not many strengths but few weaknesses too. As dodgy as the defence has looked we've still only conceded the same amount of goals as Chelsea with all kinds of crises of late in that department. No one bar Rooney impresses me much when I look at our lineup but there's no one that stands out as a bad player either.Well, all things being equal, we shouldn't lose. We shouldn't have lost at Old Tartford either, but a dive and an oggie later, we did.
My first real side was Lazio, simply because the first live match I ever remember was a 3-3 draw with Sampdoria, people used to think it was because of Gascoine but I just loved Beppe Signori. Until I was about 10/11 I knew an awful lot more about Seria A than the Premiership, watched it every Sunday. Glad I did not realise the fascist elements of Lazio until I was older.I wouldn't say I support them, but the name "Juventus" still sends a shiver down my spine as a result of those European Cup meetings. I was only 6 when we were beaten home and away by them in the group stages- they'd just won the thing, and in my head they were some kind of mythical and incredible foreign team the English clubs just couldn't match. Giggs hitting a late winner against them in '97 put me in a good mood for weeks, it felt like we'd done the impossible.
I prefer Barca over Real too. Them and Hamburg are the only continental teams I'd follow.
Well presumably a lot of the readership would be halfwitted football fans, who'd happily do that sort of thing.Haha that's brilliant. So well-written.
The implication that any of us probably would have shagged a team-mates girlfriend while we were married is balls tho.
I miss the days when they had the Serie A highlights and live matches on Channel 4. I remember it was how I first saw Sebastian Frey whilst he was playing for Parma, has remained one of my favourite players ever since. My first real side was Lazio, simply because the first live match I ever remember was a 3-3 draw with Sampdoria, people used to think it was because of Gascoine but I just loved Beppe Signori. Love Barca so much more than Real for all sorts of reasons although did love it when Ronaldo destroyed Man utd, great tie that.
Haha but the club that someone involuntarily began to support aged 3 obviously says a lot about the type of person they are!Heh, love the glory hunter debate over the past few pages. Football discussion at it's finest when people start telling you who you should be supporting and why.
Were six or seven points clear this time two years ago, tbf. It hasn't been as long since Arsenal were challenging for a title as it seems. Not strengthening the squad at what is our best chance to win the title for a long time and with the crazy money going to be spent in the next few windows is what really disheartens me. .
Yeah, I meant going forwards as well. Can't see it as City are going to spend huge and Chelsea are due a major rebuild in the next couple of years. Now is a huge huge opportunity for us which we're seemingly ignoring.Haha but the club that someone involuntarily began to support aged 3 obviously says a lot about the type of person they are!
