Are there any more auction phases yet to happen? I'd like to know how much of the IPL the New Zealand players will play.

The indian players who played the ICL are yet to be picked up. The most notable star being Ganapathy Vignesh.

I am not really sure whether govt. is involved or not but whatever happened is not healthy at all. It could have been avoided by inviting Pakistani players for the IPL.

Its obvious that no team would show great interest in investing player who would not be able to participate as the tourney is couple of weeks away...

Muneesh (or is it Monish? or Manish?) Mishra from MP (once with ICL Delhi) and Luv Ablish from Punjab (formerly with ICL Chandigarh) seem better bets, with better T20 records in the mainstream.

There are, still, some internationals or locals who played later or were used sparingly, which I ask about- like Kyle Mills, Dwayne Smith, Taruwar Kohli, Siddharth Chitnis, Jaydev Shah and Manish Pandey, who hopped teams.

Yeah Ablish took 7 wickets in an ICL game as well!

Manish Pandey switched sides?!?

Which way will the ICL returnees go? My guess is that Ablish will be picked up quickly by Kings XI Punjab (a.k.a. Arsenal), as they could do with an upgrade in their domestic bowling base. Their best bowler, after Irfan, is T20 misfit Sreesanth, and the scratchy VRV Singh and not-so-impressive Vik Malik. The only real downside is that he's not much of a batsman.

Monish Mishra is another hot target, and may be snared quickly by one of Delhi and Punjab. Delhi have a soft spot in their middle order, which they may have to fortify- they struggled with Manoj Tiwary and Mithun Manhas in the past. Punjab, on the other hand, lack strikers, and could use one with his strike rate. All of that, however, is banking on impressive stats on just four mainstream matches, apart form how many he got with ICL.

The most obvious destination for Vignesh would be Chennai, but though his ICL stats are amazing, he's not so hot in mainstream T20- but that was a long time ago, and things may change. Deccan may need a local all-rounder, so they may chase him, as also Mumbai and Punjab.

Abid Nabi may be a player of interest for some. He's primarily a bowler, once tipped as a speedster, but he's also been useful as a striker lower down- the only problem being his T20 bowling average over 49. Then again, T20 stats may be taken with a pinch of salt by some, who may need a run-scoring bowler, who can also field well. Rajasthan may chase him.

Abbas Ali is primarily a batsman, and his strike rate isn't too impressive, but he can hang around for some time. His bowling, however, has come good in T20, as he's picked up wickets regularly, for not too many. He's a left-handed batsman and left-arm spinner, who may come useful for one of Hyderabad or Mumbai.

Manish Pandey switched sides?!?
Manish was initially with Mumbai, but changed over to Bangalore for the second season. This is what happened-
  • Punjab >> Mills >> Mumbai
  • Mumbai >> Dwayne Smith >> Hyderabad
  • Rajasthan >> Niranjan Shah Jr >> Mumbai
  • Mumbai >> Chitnis >> Rajasthan
  • Hyderabad >> Bangar >> Kolkata
  • Rajasthan >> Taruwar Kohli >> Punjab
They happened after the more famous transfers of Zaheer/Uthappa and Nehra/Dhawan.

I'm keen for IPL3.

I want more franchises, weren't they supposed to be coming in this season or something? Or are they for next season?

I think it epitomises the difference between the IPL and ICC, who during the World Cup sought to take down all footage from youtube.

I think I'm done with the IPL. Keenly followed the first two but a bit over it.
I think I saw a grand total of 10 minutes of IPL2 due to it being on ONE and me being too lazy to tune that in. ONE is turned in automatically by Foxtel now though so I'll probably see a bit more of this one.

Any media owned by old hats gets ganked from YT superfast.

Ironically, Top Gear is taken down almost immediately, but there's almost an entire library of Never Mind The Buzzcocks episodes on there. Both BBC programs.

srsly Modi is onto something with this new media agreement. Won't be surprised at all if this is very, very fortuitous.

The TV Tuner card that I bought for this purpose is now effectively obsolete. ****.

Don't mind this development. Should be good fun watching it in the net. Provided my ****ty net service holds up.:p

Is it any good? I might be interesting in buying it off you actually, providing you really do have no use for it of course, because mine is getting a bit old now and I reckon I'd get much higher quality from anything I bought now.

We were selling some on our site yesterday. The ones with antennas I think.
