I don't care what anyone says the whole thing looks suspect to me!!!, that's why this thing should be settled by 'head to head' which means if two teams are level on points it goes down to who won the game between the two sides. this NRR stuff only leaves the door open for the kind of bullsh1t we're seeing tonight imo.

That only works when there are two teams on an equal number of points. In this case Pakistan, Bangladesh and the West Indies all finished on 4 points. Each of them won one and lost one against the other 2, so who goes through needs to be decided in some other way. While I'm not a huge NRR fan, its a fair enough approximation of the for and against deciding system used in other sports.

I haven't done the calculations, but anything over 200 should be safe enough.

They were on 191 with five overs left the last time i checked so you can pretty much say getting over 200 is guaranteed.

NZ look to be cruising to victory against Lanka 161/3 chasing 195. An incredibly slow half century for Boam...doubt he'll get away with a strike rate like that against some of the bigger nations.

Relatively confident in the batting. The bowling doesn't inspire much confidence though. Not the standout spearhead that there's been in some of the past WI U-19 teams.
