*Official* England in South Africa

Long may it continue. I was tiring of seeing them play on the highway that passed for a pitch at the Wanderers for the past few years.

Certainly nice to see a bouncing, seaming greentop again. I'd better make the most of it, not going to be seeing much green when SA go to India.
Agreed, actually. Makes for far more interesting cricket, even if my boys are on the wrong end of this one.

Just on that note, Ntini would've been a monster on this pitch. He thrives on bouncy, seaming pitches. Is there a case to partially blame SA's groundsmen for his decline I wonder.

Hey, 2 more wickets and there'll actually be an Englishman on the field.

Trott really fancying this, isn't he

And now put out of his misery.

Averages what for the series - about 27? Perhaps not the cast iron certainty at number 3 that we thought. Easily forgotten by some that his 100 at The Oval was made lower doen the order, and I'm not even sure he bats at 3 for his county.

Trott off!
Steyn here's a 10fer up for grabs.
Edit: beaten by Nexxus, but it is all good.

Beautiful length from Steyn to get Trott. Sure it moved but he got trapped on the crease by the length (and pace) and that exaggerated the movement.

Very well bowled but could, theoretically, have ben played better.

Exciting stuff.

Frak, Cricket really is far too precious about playing conditions. The light looks fine, certainly not dangerous by any means.

Short memories some people - 2nd & 4th tests in SA 5 years ago anyone?

Anyway, this one's in the bag, so just enjoy mate.

Hmmm - seam, swing & bounce all strongly in evidence. England's batsmen must be wondering wtf theyr'e facing a SA score in excess of 400.

Nah, haven't forgotten. Obviously when I'm impartial, I welcome the light if my team is in trouble. But moderate light stopped play just twists my nubbins the wrong way.

Just like the review system, as a concept I love it, except when the horrid system screws my team over.
