*Official* England in South Africa

Yes. It is not a strict inconsistency of English fans, but it is the smug attitude of English posters on these forums towards cries of racism (I'm agreeing that any and all calls of racism are ludicrous in world cricket) whereas cries of unbridled incompetance, leading to an official complaint, are not overtly morally superior.
I dont get this argument at all. Competency is key and should be expected.

No English fan (as far as I know) is implying it is intentional or malicious, if they are then let me be the first to tell them that they are wrong and being idiotic. This is far 'superior' and balanced to the ghastly attempts by some to imply intentional discrimination, the vile accusations that are thown around and the victim mentality exhibited by others.

To demand competency is a great foundation and backbone for general success whereas blaming others and throwing around unfounded accusations is often an indication of the opposite.

Everyone makes mistakes. However, we should expect that people make as few as possible and systems are put in place by which the best are promoted to the top and they are helped in whichever way possible. Demanding a high level of performance whilst accepting that mistakes happen is lightyears away from the "woe is me" attitude of throwing around accusations and playing the victim of intentional discrimination.

I wholeheartedly disagree with your statement comparing the two mentalities.

King pair. I wonder what the odds on that are.
Has an opening batsman ever been out first ball in both innings?

Beyond that, anyone fancy at stab at how many England will make this time?
I find it hard to disagree with the bloke on cricinfo - 'You feel that with the wicket sporting, the South African bowlers firing and England tiring, this could be over quickly'.

"An England top six that's looked fragile so far this series" according to Athers.

"Fragile" now a synonym for "twattish"?

I'd settle for that right now. Actually, what I'd really settle for is a repeat of our 2nd innings in Durban 5 years ago when faced with a similar situation, but maybe that's being too optimistic
Haha, that would be very nice. Hoping to the heavens that KP does something this innings.

Oh dear. Cook gone, nice delivery but Cook seemed to be in two minds about leaving the ball before. Problems outside offstump again.

Jeez that kept lower than it should've.
Long may it continue. I was tiring of seeing them play on the highway that passed for a pitch at the Wanderers for the past few years.

Certainly nice to see a bouncing, seaming greentop again. I'd better make the most of it, not going to be seeing much green when SA go to India.

It would be nice if he did. tbh this smacks of circa 100ao right now.
Really can't afford to lose another wicket tonight. 2 down and we're up against it, more so than we already are, if we're 3 down at the close it's cutrains.
