Not sure Dalrymple deserves his place, he played a part in an historic win in Australia

Mohammed Hafeez was a solid player, albeit unspectacular.
Surely you have to find room for Floyd Reifer somewhere? Lol, I know he can captain both sides

Yea that could work:

Elliot
Rogers
Blewett
Love
Symonds
White
McDonald
Manou
Bracken
Williams
Tait

12th man: Casson

Harsh on Rogers, Blewett, Love Tait & Roy...
Harsher on McDonald than Tait in my opinion. Never particularly held high hopes when Tait was around the test team to be honest.

Slater and Hogg should be in this side.
Michael Slater?

Forgot about Brett Dorey in the ODI's actually, was always fun watching him bowl  Remember the talk about him before he played. Turned out to just be tall and slow.

Aussie really hates McDonald, he was always going to pick him.
Yeah I remember the chat around McDonald before and that Aussie isn't a big fan. Pretty funny really given he's offered Tait something in the way of an apology for including him. He served up a pile of **** bowling for Australia in tests.

Floyd Reifer got the captaincy by default. He did a job that no one else wanted to do, at a time when he was clearly past his best, and he knows his best was never that great. I have no problems with Floyd Reifer, and circumstances mean he's exempt. As for Hafeez, are you kidding me? He averages under 19 with the majority of those innings opening the batting. And a strike rate under 60. What's solid about that?

At least Tait warranted selection in Ashes 05 tests & squad given he broke the state domestic record for most wickets in a season in 04/05. Although he was a bit erratic in the 2 Ashes test he played, he bowled dangerously in patches (i.e the reverse swing he got) ATT alot of people where hyping him before he played.

He was poor in the Perth test vs IND 08 yea, but that has alot to do with the fact that pre-match hype that the pitch was going to be flyer wasn't the case - it turned out to be a flattish pitch & he struggled.

Ha nah i dont hate that cat. He is in because he was trash & he didn't warrant selection in SCG 08, no test in SA 09 nor as a part of the Ashes squad. Easily the worst player i've seen in a baggygreen along with Shawn Young, Scott Mueler (although Casson i technically the worst)..

Lol yeah he was a crap ODI opener and no way was he ready to face international new ball attacks. I have actually seen him hit the ball well before but he was only kept in the opening job because they wanted him in mostly for his bowling and couldn't bat him anywhere else. No way did the opening role in ODI's look like it suited him at any stage.
He was a moderately successful one-day spinner though - coupled with average batting surely doesn't warrant him a place in this illustrious side?

The fact is that he was picked to open the batting for almost all of his ODI career, despite a very low average and a horrible strike rate. He can't even be considered a pinch-hitter really. If you're going to be taking the place of a batsman in the lineup, you have to bowl a hell of a lot better than 33 per wicket IMO. A poor child's Chris Gayle at an enormous stretch.

So what, Pathan and RP were swinging the ball everywhere. You can't solely blame the pitch on Tait's failures there, he seriously bowled poo.

That catch to dismiss Watson was ****ing epic.
Yep, that was exactly what I was thinking of

Seemed to remember seeing a post something like this right after that:

Dalrymple wasn't that bad. He finished his career terribly but he looked the part for a while before that. Wasn't really in a role that suited him much but he did okay.
