Again - i will say it, It is a pretty outlandish statement but i have seen Boult bowl once and the wicketkeeper was standing up to him - in a four day game. He was nothing like 135-140 and 125 was more than generous. He is not quicker than Tuffey.

Another point is that you cant judge bowlers pace by what other club/rep batsman say as whats quick to the big boys is not Boults pace.

I hope im wrong and the fact he cant make the ND side when its full strength says it all. Please make me eat my words Trent though as i know youre only 20 but have a great career for NZ. I assure you all that nobody will be more pleased than me. But as already mentioned he is not big and you dont see fast bowlers who succeed when they bowl in his pace range at the international level.

Depends. He's also faced the likes of Yovich who's 125-130 and he said Boult was easily quicker then him, so....

He can't make the ND team at full strength because he isn't needed, he's coming back from a serious injury. Bradburn has already said he's going to bring him back slowly, why would you play him when you have the likes of Arnel, Southee, Aldridge and Scott available?

Finally you do know he was clocked as a schoolboy in 2007 with a fastest speed of 138K. Can't imagine he would lose 13K's of pace between 17 and 20 tbh.

Would be verrrrry suprised if he was faster than 140. But thats not an issue with me.
As would I. I've always thought he was around the 135 mark tbh as he's quicker then the likes of Aldridge, Scott and Yovich but around the same pace as Arnel and Tim Southee.

I fully expect him to be a 138-145 type bowler by his mid 20's though, he has a very quick arm action and once he bulks up a little more he should gain that extra yard of pace.

Hmmm, maybe. All estimates on my part but Southee and Arnel have both looked quicker then Scott this year at least and Southee was only clocked usually around 135-138K in the test.
Well they usually say there is a huge leap between 135 and 138 when you are watching it. Those extra few km's make a big difference.

Boult is bowling a hell of a lot quicker than 125. Not sure how you can judge someones pace by seeing the keeper stand up to them, i've seen Prior stand up to Luke Wright who was bowling 135km/h at the time...Gilchrist also stumped McMillan off McGrath did he not?

Early last season Boult seemed as quick as Southee, and quicker than any of the other ND bowlers (and Southee was bowling high 130's at that stage). Safe to say he'd be in the mid 130's consistently.

^lmao

Scott is pretty medium he is more like 125, Boult is around 135km from memory he played on televised matches last year and I guess we'll find out for sure on the televised matches coming up shortly. Be interesting to see how the bowlers fare too the likes of Butler, Diamanti etc

It could be worse - Scott Styris could be modelling the Auckland kit.
Looks like he was placed there out of convenience. This is depending on what the shot was taken. If done during the test series, then all those players are test players, so would have been easier to get the shirts and give them to them to take a quick shot rather than geting someone else who would be more likely to be the face of canterbury cricket than Martin.

Iain O'Brien's swansong for Wellington at the Basin tomorrow. Hope the weather holds out and I will be there to give him a send off.

If anyone else is going, I'll be the one in Black Caps shirt with "O'Brien" on the back.

Checking out the Canterbury team card and to my surprise Chris Martin appears to be coming in at number 10 - one spot above someone apparent hack called Burson.

Surely no one can be worse than Martin? Hope to christ this guy can at least bowl like a champ if he is that bad with the willow.

Any idea if they Otago ND game will get go ahead?
