It's always a hard one to spot- remember watching an Italian game years back where Juventus conceded a goal that was four or five yards offside for that reason, but none of the players complained nor did either of the commentators pick up on it.

Nah, generally there are a lot worse blokes out there, does allow his Liverpool bias get in the way at times.

Incredible centre-half too, so when he's whining about defences you know he could/would of done better. He was amazing, so quick over the ground. Watching him live was to see one of the best ever. truly incredible. Taggart leaving him out in '86 has to be an all-time great stupid managerial decision.

Yeah, his playing days were before my time but credit where credit is due, I've heard he was a great player.

Doesn't mean he's immune from speaking complete and utter tosh though. You're right, I'd probably like him a lot more if he was never allowed to comment on a Liverpool game ever again.

Yeah, Mannone. He looked dodgy in the games after Fulham though. Wigan(IIRC) scored one from a hopeless punt upfield because he was "doing an Almunia" leaving himself stranded 15 yards out.
