Being doing abit of searching tonight on why Shaw hasn't been playing for Auckland over the last few weeks, I can't find anything about him being injured at the moment so by the looks of things he's been dropped.

He was in the 12 against ND but he didn't make the final XI and looking at the bowling line-up for this weeks game you'd have to wonder why he isn't playing if Ravi Bopara is opening the bowling.
Shaw is injured. I think it's a knee injury.
They could really use him and de Grandhomme.

Where are you guys seeing the scores for this? Cricinfo seems to be woefully behind for me (has CD at 0/69).
It's a bit late, but www.blackcaps.co.nz. There's a little live scores bar at the top.

I suspect Howsie came in to post something snarky about Pinga, but I can't be sure because he's on ignore.

I don't care because Central Districts and its slogger opener won and ND and its pathetic excuse for a top order lost.

So with Broom playing so well he should be the replacement for Guptill or Flynn (hopefully Ryder's back.

3.Taylor
4.Broom
5.Ryder

We have to play our best batsmen at three imo, it's pretty unfair to play someone who's a lesser batsmen in a posistion they don't feel comfortable with.

Ryder should bat at 3 ahead of Taylor.
You reckon. I wouldn't mind too much if Ryder batted at three but imo one of Taylor or Ryder have to bat there. I'd perfer Taylor because I think at the moment his game would be better suited higher up the order then Ryder's would.

But a middle order of Taylor, Ryder, Broom, Vettori and McCullum looks promising imo.

I would say Ryder plays fast bowling a bit more comfortably than Taylor which is why I'd want Ryder to bat at 3 if either have to.

While that's true, I think Taylor plays swing and seam a bit better.

I don't think getting Broom is sooo important as to move Taylor or Ryder from four and five; I'd leave them there and just pick a top order batsman to bat in the top order.

Agree. But Broom deserves his chance to play test cricket, he's averaging 42 with eight first-class 100's in 50 games. Not too many batsmen in New Zealand have those types of numbers that haven't played test cricket before. Why pick someone that isn't as well qualified as Broom is, that just doesn't make sense to me.

Will never EVER get a Test.

Because hes from CD.
Tbh I'm not quite sure what he has to do to get an opportunity. He's done everything asked.

Might have no footwork but if McIntosh can get away with it and score at Napier twice then Pinga can do even better.
