Bollinger cited for unfancy footwork | Cricket News | Australia v West Indies 2009/10 | Cricinfo.com

Find this ludicrous, myself. What, players aren't allowed to show any displeasure at a decision not going their way?
Thought it was one of the more appalling things I've seen on field in recent times tbh. Hope he gets sat out a match.

Maybe its just that I'm fast developing a hatred of Bollinger and his stupid potato head, despite him bowling well. At the moment, he's shaping up as Australia's answer to Sreesanth in the fast bowling tool stakes. Just my opinion...

He's playing for his country [with] his hand on his heart and he's really going out there and playing tough cricket.
Tough cricket? Like running himself out rather than trying to keep out a ball from Roach because he was scared he might get a bouncer bowled at him. Hand on his heart? Like claiming a ridiculous bump ball as a catch? He might be bowling better than Siddle at the moment, but Sid's got more heart in his little toe than Bollinger has in his whole body.

Draw. Reckon WI will think they don't have enough and bat for too long tomorrow morning setting the Aussies a total which they won't have time to get (especially if the rain comes).

That is an open show of dissent, and IMHO, goes against the spirit of the game. I'm glad they're taking action against Bollinger. I must admit, after that 'catch', Bolinger is the last person I'll feel sorry for....

I'm also not terribly impressed by Ponting constantly questioning the umpires after the third umpire has ruled on a review.

I'll give Ponting a very limited bit of grace at the moment - as the captain trying to work out how to implement a new system, he could reasonably be asking "what did the third umpire say was the issue with that" while they get a feel for how it works. Obviously if it continues at its current level for more than another match or so, it won't be cool.

Draw. Aussies 250/5 by stumps.
This. Can't see Gayle setting the Aussies less than 350, and I don't think they'll be able to get that many more and leave themselves enough time to get the ten wickets. Although I think it will be very interesting to see how this current Aussie team bats when they're only batting to save, rather than win, a match.

I know the pundits are saying no-one's scored more than 240-odd to win a Test on 4th innings at Adelaide but there's just not been that many chases at Adelaide. If the Aussies are looking for inspiration, just need to remember this game;

South Australia v Queensland at Adelaide, Feb 7-10, 1992 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com

Big chase against a strong attack, 402 on the last day alone and only 6 wickets lost. It can be done and hopefully Hilditch is in the ears of the Aussie batters about it.

Will quote that score-card next time someone asks for an example of when Hayden has succeeded against strong fast bowling attacks...

You're assuming then that the bowlers can't clean up the remaining 2 wickets cheaply leaving a chase of only say 305?

Give us a huge chance if the total is not more than 310. It's not that the batting lineup is in terrible form either. They're all getting starts, all it would take imo is for someone to hit a ton, which is evidentally a possibility on this pitch (even if it is slowing down).

Haha, yeah check out the first dig; a SR of 40 against the 'might' of Hickey/Scuderi/Owen is unforgivable. Weirdly, 48 of 79 still came in boundaries.....

Owen a ripping bloke, tbh. Was a demon at Uni.

^^ Yep, good point. If we're chasing 300, I'll back us to win. Don't know why I was assuming it was up to when Gayle declared (think the tv maybe cut away in the third to last over when Sammy was still in?)

Must have been a lot of staunch defence. and in fairness, he was run out! Owen had the best first class bowling average of the SA quicks in that match - 33.10

Agree with all that.
