Booooo :@

I'd love to see Tuffey do well, don't get me wrong. But I just can't see it happening tbh. I'd like to know though why can't any bowler from Northern Districts make the New Zealand XI, all four fast bowlers have been outstanding so far this season, and yet not one of them is going to be playing after we lose our best fast bowler
because Yovich has really only turned it on this season, Boult is young, Southee we don't know about flat track and second spell wise and Arnel is behind the others

Tuffey took the most wickets last season too.

Why though, he's been one of the best domestic bowlers for two years now and when ever he plays for NZ A he performs. O'Brien's had two decent games this year, is that really good enough? Our selectors really don't seem to like to move on, which is a shame.

Funny thing is, I reckon todays ND bowling line-up of Southee, Boult, Arnel and Aldridge is better then New Zealand's pace attack today.

O'Brien has been better than that, plus he performs an important role in the team ie. bowling the tough overs. You don't just replace a hard-working, consistent and occasionally very good performer like that with someone like Arnel who might do marginally better.

Yes Southee had a decent case to be picked today, but really it's a matter of when, not if. He and probably Arnel too will get plenty of opportunity when Bond, Martin & O'Brien are no longer around.

12.30 start?

Radio Sport covering Otago against Wellington, South Africans bowling from both ends to an Aussie named Merchant.

O'Brien's been poor this year, he had one decent game against India, he was very poor in Sri Lanka and he bowled well in the second innings against Pakistan only. Arnel's been on fire for two years now, he should of at least been given a run by now.

If Arnel and Southee weren't from ND you wouldn't care, be honest. :p

O'Brien was our best seamer last year, he got in the top wicket takers list of 08iirc. He deserves a good run.

Is Bullick a South African?
Nah, I got confused. Radio Sport are doing extensive coverage from all the games so then went to Otago where Wagner was bowling and then to another game and some guy called Erasmus, sounds like a Saffer was bowling and an Aussie was batting.

Hasn't exactly been an easy ask though - six tests prior to the Pakistan series this year of which one was Napier and three were in Sri Lanka. I can't imagine Arnel or Southee would have done any better.
