Never saw him live but find it somewhat incredible that a bloke could take two-and-a-half thousand FC wickets and not have found a way to bowl well on pitches which weren't conducive to his style of bowling.I've heard that he's a tiger on damp pitches, ***** on covered wickets
The literature on the man suggests he bowled just fine on flat pitches anyway, was deadly on anything giving him something to work with. Any people who saw him want to confirm?
