My point is that his bowling average isn't much worse (if at all) than the likes of Qadir, Saqlain, Harbhajan etc and his batting average is on the rise.Definitely on his way to become an all-time great.A very underrated cricketer.

Because he had the Gall to do well against Bangladesh. Harbhajan has atrocious stats against the Whipping Boys, but that's okay. His stats aren't tainted by cheap wickets. I don't know what it says when his were only taken at 40+, but hey?

It took a while to work out, but Vettori still has by far the superior stats in England and marginally superior stats in the Antipodes (154 wickets at 37.7). Vettori's stats suffer in Asia as he falls to 48 wickets at 38.

However, the argument is not whether Vettori is great, but your assessment that he is poor and only fit for First Class cricket. My comparison with Harbhajan was to dismiss your claim that no stats could show Vettori in a credible light.

Come on now Bagapath, surely you don't really think that Vettori is only suitable for First Class cricket. 250 wickets or 300+ (depending on your definition) is still a darn sight more than most bowlers will ever manage.
