*Official* Sri Lanka in India

Whatever it takes!!!
Newsflash : Some CWers never learn. Only thing that matters is bashing BCCI and Indian Cricket. Why let reason or logic get in the way of some stupid unentertaining whining?

Given the bowlers, there have been 5 wickets so far in 143 overs. One was run out and the other 4 were hard hit to fielders.

That alone already makes it a **** pitch regardless of what happens after. If the pitch crumbles then it made the toss critical. India's seamers may well do more than SL's pair, but even still SL's spinners should not be reduced to such toothless fodder.
If the toss being crucial is bad, almost every single test centre in the world should be banned.

India bowled out here.. Might just be a blessing in disguise. Sri Lanka will need to bat well and with a lot of discipline.

do you realize that you are being stupid here?????

In that case, why don't NZ prepare a turner next time we go over there.. 8-)
It doesnt need to prepare a turner... the test matches played in NZ are more interesting than being played in India.. these are just dead matches. idiotic pitches.. BCCI cant do anything to improvise & promote test matches..instead concentrates on T20

some people here are so single minded that they will have a go at anything...please wait till the fourth day of this match and at this time if SL is batting 800/5 at least u can justify what you are putting forward...in the end it might turn out that way...but at least pls wait.... its not like Indian electiosn you have to wait one month to know the result once you have voted its just 2 more days
can you bet on your words?

based on what ???

last 5 years

India have played 23 test in India with 13 having result and 10 draws

NZ have played 20 test in NZ with 13 result and 7 draws

i don't see where the too much excitement is coming from ..they only have a slightly better result ratio

what more you require to keep test cricket alive...It's better than preparing rubbish pitches when test matches are about to die

and most of the draws in NZ are due to the rain/weather and not due to tame draws

I think India should realise it is not doing any justice to the spinners and start preparing turners like it used to in the 90s. I don't think barring Sri Lanka any other test team possesses good spin bowlers. India whitewashed England 3-0 in 93 with 3 spinners and a similar strategy. The visting team might whinge and complain but it is their probelm they don't have spinners to exploit Indian surfaces.

They are more interesting because NZ has a pretty brittle batting line up and tend to collapse often. And even their bowliing attack has been pretty weak for a while and the top teams have taken advantage of that.

If we were to use this reasoning, the pitches in BD are the best because they produce the most results.. Check out the ratios... Every team defeats BD in BD.. 8-)

It's still a good batting surface, but India's bowlers have looked pretty threatening today. 642 runs on board means the spinners could have upto five fielders around the bat and they attacked, couldn't get a breakthrough though. India have managed 8 maidens in 24 overs, Sri Lanka could only send down 11 off 154. - From cricinfo.

Already a third of the overs ent down are maidens. That shows how poorly SL bowlers were doing, although Herath did pick up in the end.

It may well be true but there are other factors one has to consider.

India were batting first without the pressure of a big score in front of them.. Sri Lanka were batting with few overs to go and so they were looking to play out time for the day. So it might be the reason they were less attacking. But it does seem like Indian bowlers looked more threatening than the SL bowlers. Will have to see how it goes tomorrow.
