yep.. judge a pitch by results.. Let us all conveniently forget that the quality of the players playing on the said strip is what actually decides whether there is a result in the game or not.. Brilliant...

NOT
To an extent, but a road can nullify any attempts at decent bowling.. This is a shockingly poor series, I don't care how good a batsman Sehwag or Gambhir is, wouldn't you rather see them hit a match winning 70 with the ball nipping around than this dross? Terrible.. it devalues every performance

A few balls have turned but not that many alarms, Mendis has bowled quite a bit better today but would not describe anyone as looking dangerous.

Obviously it's harder to make a pitch with something in it for the quicks in a climate such as India's, but with man being able to go to the moon and all that, surely something can be done..

And lose that little thing called home advantage? Australia, RSA, England never attempted to prepare dustbowls. Why should the sub-continental teams expose themselves to their obvious weakness by preparing a pitch that doesn't suit them? I guess it can be done but it won't be done.

if the opponents score hundreds on the same flat tracks, it makes the game exciting????
If the opponents score, it will be exciting because they get not too many chances as India get to bat on these ugly flat pitches in India. so, why would it not be exciting
?

Can't be too many matches where the spinners of the quality here have only managed one maiden between them in 80odd overs.

Anyway completely pointless playing Test cricket when it degenerates into batting average boosting draws.

I don't know why people are condemning the series already when not even the first innings of the second test match is over.

Whatever it takes!!!

yep.. have this gut feeling that there will be quite a few posts I m gonna dig up towards day 4 and 5 of this match.

I mean, it may well end up being a flat track draw but sheesh, at least give this a chance before commenting...

Laxman gone. With Dhoni in, it is going to a very entertaining half an hour or a boring ritual of ones and twos.

Given the bowlers, there have been 5 wickets so far in 143 overs. One was run out and the other 4 were hard hit to fielders.

That alone already makes it a **** pitch regardless of what happens after. If the pitch crumbles then it made the toss critical. India's seamers may well do more than SL's pair, but even still SL's spinners should not be reduced to such toothless fodder.

Eyes not spreadsheets
Precisely. The openers taking the spinners apart was a treat to watch.

Besides, if the first Test in South Africa sees SA 400/2 at the end of day 1, will people blame crap bowling, good batting or the pitch being a road?
jboss will blame the kolpaks.

some people here are so single minded that they will have a go at anything...please wait till the fourth day of this match and at this time if SL is batting 800/5 at least u can justify what you are putting forward...in the end it might turn out that way...but at least pls wait.... its not like Indian electiosn you have to wait one month to know the result once you have voted its just 2 more days
