How good are Northern Districts. Even when missing our two best bowlers we can destroy a batting line-up like CD's, easily the best domestic team in the country (this year).

Hopefully our top order fires this time, I'm not to worried about this bowling attack though, it's pretty tame.

And how long do CD persist with Worker, he's never really done anything at this level.
Haha na ND are pretty average due to their weak batting. Something in the wicket I'd say, CD still seem to have entirely imploded.

The battings not near as bad as some people make it out to be. Parlane, Marshall and Williamson have proven records and Yovich and McGlashan are decent bats. Our tail is probably the strongest going around too.

Auckland might struggle in this match, they seem to only have three proper bowlers.
Seems unusual to go into the match with so few bowling resources - perhaps relying on Bopara and Styris to play the role as the fourth bowling option.

I love it that just as I criticise Auckland's tactic of going into the game with so few front line bowlers, Wellington lose two wickets in the space of ten minutes...

Wellington have the best tail IMO.

And in perspective the Knights have some of the worst top 7s today: Wilson, Parlane, Devcich, Marshall, McGlashan, Yovich
CD: Pinga, How, Worker, Sinclair, Taylor, Patton, Griggs
Well: Bell, Brodie, NParlane, Merchant, Boam, Woodcock, Nevin
Auck: Guptill, Jones, Bopara, Styris, Kitchen, Boorder, Raval
Cant: Nicol, Papps, Fulton, Stewart, Astle, Anderson, van Wyk
Otago: Haig, Morgan, Todd, McCullum, Broom, Boorder, Wells

CD, Wellington, Auckland and Canterbury are comfortably ahead overall I'd say. Otago seems a bit weak, but with Cumming in the team they have one of the best opening combos around, ND have pretty rubbish openers compared to everyone else.

One of the better attacks though, Scott and TBoult are two pretty big guys domestically.

Go Brodie go! Looked the goods when I was down at the Basin the other day besides the occassional suicidal run.

ND have the likes of Jono Boult, Aldridge, Scott, Yovich, Trent Boult, Bruce Martin (when playing). Trent Boult will have the number 11 sealed up and he's a very decent bat. The rest of them are all capable of scoring 50's.

And ND's openers aren't that bad, Wilson averaged 40 last season and he's going along very nicely today.

Mechant is the man. Also Bell scores a million runs domestically.
I'm not disputing that Merchant isn't a good player, because he is. But Wellington's current batting line-up is by no means comfortably better then Northern Districts.

Will be interesting seeing how Otago go when it's their turn to bat against Bond and Martin. They don't have Cumming for this match but do have Broom and B McCullum back. Redmond is injured. Even though Canterbury are doing well on this pitch I have a feeling Otago are going to struggle.

By the way, Wagner doesn't seem to be doing so well so far this season.

Yeah fair call, with Franklin and Elliott around it would be but they aren't. I'd still say Wellington is the better batting side, but not by that much.

Overrated perhaps? He was less then impressive in India, and we've all heard how he's one of the quicker bowlers in this comp, yet he was only bowling around 130-135K.

Would leave it for another match or two before getting too worried about Wagner. Yeah can see Canterbury giving Otago a bit of a thrashing here.

Hope Fulton scores big.

Nick Beard just picked up Todd Astle surprise, surprise for not many. He's a fantastic bowler this kid. I'm not one for making predictions but when Vettori retires from international cricket Beard should step right in and fill the gap nicely. He's a very good bat also.

Josh Brodie's about to bring up his second first class 100. Hopefully he remains consistant throughout the year because this is a very good start for the young fella.

Had a decent year last year though relatively unexceptional. Bell and Brodie were Wellington's openers in every match last year.
