Before the series starts I thought I'd get a prediction in - Styris to underwhelm with the bat.

Yes I think he's been poorly treated by the selectors and should have been in the ODI team/ squad a while back, and yes I'm pleased he is in the squad considering he is experienced and we have injury problems.

But he hasn't racked up many runs in recent memory, either domestically or in his couple of 20/20 innings for Deccan. Plus he's 34 or 35 now IIRC, with a dodgy knee. I imagine he'll be in the playing XI and will need to score a fair few runs to convince the selectors he's not past it (after they clearly concluded that a year or two ago for some reason).

Hope piggy proves me wrong of course ;)
Thought I'd give myself a

... even if two of his dismissals were run outs and weren't entirely his fault.

Just watched a replay of a wicket that Vetorri picked up with his arm ball. The batsman got out lbw.

They did a replay on how he does his arm ball and it was good value I am going to try it in the nets.

I am impressed with Dan's skills.

I love him for it though. You'd think he bowled 150+ the way he gets in the batsmans face when bowling and not bowling.

I am pleased with this fine. I made a post yesterday saying I was dissapointed with his reaction.
Yup, agree with this, Oram also reacted pretty poorly too from memory on one of the decisions that was turned down

He doesn't have to act like a punk though. The worst thing he does is not look back at the umpire when he appeals for LBW's, he should be fined for doing that crap.

Reuben to come in and say 'but every ball is an arm ball with Vettori'.

I have no idea tbh, a few guys around the world at the moment do it though, Stuart Broad is probably a lot worse then Mills.
it's quite rude of them to do that. When you look at their records their attitude towards the officials are quite shocking.

Mills and Franklin back on the injured list. A little concerning though as someone mentioned we're not playing another ODI for ages, so Mills should be ok. However Franklin is going to need to get well quick if he's going to bat 6 in the test series.

Not overly excited about the T20, but seeing as Oram's also gone home for the birth of his child we only have 12 to choose from, so will be either giving Watling a debut or giving Broom injury-induced-chance #483. Could be interesting.

Mills probably deserved the fine, especially for the obscene language but I think him getting charged for over appealing is a bit of a joke considering there are some bowlers out there who appeal when it hits the pad regardless of where it pitched. I mean there would have been 3 or 4 instances in this game alone where Aamer appealed when it pitched 5 inches outside leg.
