Yeah not too surprised it was the same at the GABBA last week.

How were the QLD quicks? Was Cutting making a grunt on his effort balls? I like the look of him and Walter.

Generally weren't too bad. No help from the pitch.

Swan - looked pedestrian
Walter - too much width generally, playing for swing which wasn't there. SA just sweated on his wider ones while I was there.
Cutting - looked the best of the quicks but I think he has overused the short ones and very few of them were threatening (although, can't blame him for trying something on a pudding deck against some pretty cautious batting). When straighter, they did find it hard to get him away and was the only one to get the ball through to the 'keeper with any zing. One of those types that hits the bat harder than you think, I reckon.

The spinners really did look like easy runs, though.

That said, I'm obviously not there now so who knows what they're up to. :D

Cheers mate, shame you had to leave, Cooper would be great to watch. SA should be aiming for 450 plus now.

SA 3/275 at stumps :). Good work by them, Cooper on 49* and Borgas batting well on 56*. Good batting by the redbacks today in hot conditions, they didn't lose wickets in bunches aswell.

Hopefully these two can go on with it tommorow and get a big score on the board. Hopefully Cooper dosen't play a stupid shot and get out, have a good feeling about him getting a ton. need to push the runrate a bit higher tommorow aswell but then again christian and Ludeman can do that. A good day in the end though

Go the redbacks

Pretty good stuff from the South Australian batsman. Dissapointing this Adelaide Oval wicket, little hope of it improving as the season wears on.

Dan Doran..where are the Queensland selectors going with him? Bowling more overs this season, but it is only showing him up more as a largely useless leg-spinner. With Simpson in the lineup, I would think another paceman (something Queensland is blessed with ATM) would be the more viable option, or how about trying someone younger who may still have a future like Boyce.

Good question, really. Having Simpson or Doran in the side is risky enough but both? Rimmington a sore sight hanging with Weeks on the sidelines.

It'll be good when Hopes come in for Doran during the Test matches. The side will look heaps better balanced.

QLD are getting creamed. Can't believe O'Brien has bowled 6 overs, 6 maidens, 1 wicket for no runs!

Yeah! great day for the redbacks, big total there. Great innings from Borgas, happy for him..hit some huge shots to. That will get his confidence up heaps which is part of his problem sometimes and if he dosen't get out early then seems to go on with it. O'Brien has pretty much cemented a spot in the FC side now, a good innings from him..quite underrated with the bat IMO and 2 wickets with the ball. QLD 4 down already hopefully we can roll them over pretty quickly. George and O'Brien bowled well today.

Cooper out for 49..first ball of the day, when Cosgrove comes back he could find himself out of the side.

Good stuff from SA. I am of the belief that O'Brien and Christian should not be in the same SS lineup together (if SA are serious about winning more games), but they have combined well today.

Be great if Simpson plays his first knock of substance in years (some might say ever) tomorrow. I quite like Simpson, very likeable bloke, smart captain, pretty useful off-break bowler, but these are the situations you expect your captain to stand up in. The Queensland batting lineup is rather thin, and to justify a top 7 batting order position, Simpson has to perform in these situations.

Simpson did make 70 coming in at 5/234 chasing WA's first innings score of 406 in the Shield opener this season. I do hope he does produce the goods tomorrow though!

Pretty disappointed that Kruger failed to convert a start once again.

Hey mate.

Yeah he hit some huuge sixes that nearly landed on the Chappell Stands roof.

Boy was it slow going this morning. Saw one attacking shot in the early session, when Townsend cut Christian to the fence. Hot day, in fairness.

Christian the best of the bowlers by far. Was beating the bat regularly, no mean feat on a day like today and with a ball 50+ overs old. Getting them through at a good clip too. Not much else going on in the bowling department. Haberfield was quick at times, a bit unlucky really.

Bailey bowling the usual mixed bag. More long-hops than usual today.

QLD all out for 308. SA lead by 169 runs with 21 overs to go today and obv. 96 tomorrow = 117 - 2 for change of innings so 115.

How many overs do we all think SA will bat? I'm thinking 35 overs, with the aim of making say 160.

QLD will need 330 to win in 80 overs, no chance unless say Carseldine, Simpson and Swan make all the runs.

Looks like they're going for the outright, not taking the follow-on. Will need to smash the daylights out of QLD tonight to set them a decent chase and give them enough time. Smith to star.
