Cricket, Lovely Cricket
This is deja vu for the older fans like me.I've gone through anger, I just about want to cry right now.

Yeah i'm past the anger as well now... although if i see Jadeja in the playing XI next match.. i might just go mad again.I've gone through anger, I just about want to cry right now.
I'm pretty indifferent to selection these days, you just have to accept that selections in international cricket are not rational.Yeah i'm past the anger as well now... although if i see Jadeja in the playing XI next match.. i might just go mad again.
I would prefer winning the series any day.Would Indian fans have preferred to win this chase but lose the series?
Cos if India come back and win the next 2 matches, they win the series of course.
Or would people have preferred chasing down 350 with a Sachin ton? Interesting question.
Btw, yes Aussie fans we realise that the Australian team is destroyed by injuries, but I'm just asking a hypothetica.
Oh yeah, definitely prefer to win the series, but the two are not independent. Winning the game will help win the series [/stating the obvious].I would prefer winning the series any day.
Yeah these young 'uns are wimps. The tied test of Madras and Javed Miandad's last ball six, that's pain...This is deja vu for the older fans like me.
Sad to see that you have become me. You used to defend and I would accuse Tendy of choking. Me using the term 'fan choke' was not an attack but a comment on how some Indian fans are focussing on the last 3 overs instead of enjoying an epic chase.Great. Start attacking the poster instead of trying to argue the point at hand. This is exactly why I said you are a cranky poster at your worst. When we have had Tendulkar debates, which I have been proven right and you wrong more often than not, you have always attacked me for being a Tendulkar fan and have been unable to come up with reasonable points.
The fact that you have brought 3rd individual and his religion into your argument suggests that you are no better either. And I will leave it at that.[This tendency of attacking the poster is also seen in your debates with muslims in the forum where you have alleged top quality posters like Fusion. This is why you will always remain a mediocre poster - ad hominem attacks.
If your team has fought hard and lost, it doesn't matter. However, if they lose like a bunch of nincompoops, it does hurt. India played like a bunch of chokers and it was not just the lower order tailenders who failed. No one bar Tendulkar and Raina made any significant contribution.enjoying an epic chase.
So how was the shot he got out to not choking? He needed to play straight, needed to play the conventional shots and see his side through with 19 required off 17. What does he do? Goes for a fancy push to the back. Given the balls left and the runs required, it was a completely unnecessary shot. I don't blame Tendulkar solely for losing this game for us of course. He did play a truly great inning.Sad to see that you have become me. You used to defend and I would accuse Tendy of choking.
Tendulkar's reason in the Pakistan test was that he was writhing in pain and he needed to hit out as he couldn't last much longer on the wicket. That is fairly reasonable and I don't blame Tendulkar for the Chennai test. That was just a ludicrous failure of our tailenders. A choke by India even bigger than the one we saw today, mind you.I did not watch the match, only saw the fall of wickets.
Tendulkar's wicket reminded me of the shot played by Misbah in the final of the T20 WC.
After playing so well, he threw it away.
It also reminded me of the shot he played in the Chennai match against Pakistan of Saqlain.
After playing so wonderfully well, he threw it away.
You can play one of the great ODI innings of all time and yet choke in the end. Such is cricket.I think Tendulkar will be the only unfortunate batsman in the entire world ever to be ridiculed and derided and labelled a choker despite having played one of the best ever One day innings (as admitted sportingly by that other legend, Ponting) ever.
Haha i have to admit its kind of ironic.Sad to see that you have become me. You used to defend and I would accuse Tendy of choking.
I do not agree with you Pratters. He played a true gem of an innings and 99.99% of other batsmen would not have even made past 100 in such pressure and at his age. He played such shots with precision earlier also but this one just did not come off. Choking is an uncharitable term here. You can play one of the great ODI innings of all time and yet choke in the end. Such is cricket.
