*Official* Australia in India - ODIs

It was not a commanding position, both teams had equal chances to win at that point.
6 wickets in hand.. 50 runs of around 8 overs with 5 overs of powerplay and both set batsman playing....... 8 out 10 times batting team would be expected to win.

Okay, on to the future...

Munaf, thanks for coming but out you go. Jadeja, ditto. Virat Kohli and Sudeep Tyagi, have a go.

Would have be great if Tendy scored 200 & AUS still won. That Coventry bloke that has the ODI record is a disgrace, some player needs to get past 194 soon.

Dhoni telling it like it is.

We lost in the mental aspect of the game, not talent.

Good captain.

Go and teach Jadeja a lesson now.

Thoughts on McKay's first outing from those who watched? 3 wickets seems like a great first match.
Best bowler along with Watson. Something McGrath-like about him I reckon, or is it just me? Accurate, smart, confident, calm, etc.

Was as expected. :) His wicket-taking deliveries weren't even his best ones, but he was great. Mid-to-high 130s, L&L, bounce, bowled well at the death. Vintage McKay.

Hate to say it but Watson should be man of the match......... When he came back to bowl... changed the match with his bowling.

93 runs at a run a ball, 3 wickets for peanuts - game changing ones, as you said - and kept it tight all the way through.

Yeah great all-round performance from him.

Sure, Sachin more than deserving though. I was hoping he'd get the 200 but not win of course

BTW those of you are criticizing Tendulkar's shot, how many players can you think of who played through the entire innings of a close 300+ chase? It may have happened a few times but it's vanishingly rare. Because almost inevitably the combination of fatigue and pressure will induce a tired shot and players will get out before the end. That goes double for someone at Sachin's age.

But even factoring in Sachin's dismissal the game was India's to lose. It just required a bit of fight from Jadeja and the tail. That's where the blame lies.

Couple of things:

It was Hauritz that did the final throw, not Voges. What a ****ing arm!

Secondly, hopefully this just makes Sachin more hungry and he can keep doing this at the World Cup.

Dont live in Oz anymore so have to rely on media, friends etc for reports on domestic stuff

Mates were surprised that he'd been picked so early but were unanimous in "good action, tall, sharpish, smart"

I thought he was really excellent tonight

Yeah it wasn't an ideal shot... but had he got that over fine leg no one would have said anything.

It was there, and he was obviously tiring and wanted to keep taking advantage of the powerplay.

Man Gavaskar called Jadeja's run out before it even happened!

Whats the biggest difference between the highest and next highest score in an innings? Raina managed a 59 to Sachin's 175 here. Reckon Kapil's 175 would be it?

Gavaskar called it a mile off and for good reason as Jadeja was backing up a mile for every ball. Jadeja needs to grow some balls and realise he is not playing school cricket anymore - you simply cannot steal 10 yards without the opposition noting and taking your wicket.
