A 5-2 margin indicates the idea that one side will dominate totally & i cant see that happening. Why? 5-2 is very much a possibility either side of the spectrum. I don't see how you can be so sure that a 7 match ODI series will end 4-3.
Could well be the case. Three spinners including Jadeja in the middle overs would be fun.I don't think 3 pacers will play, Cruxdude. Will be two spinners and two pacers.
1 Spinner + 3 PacersI don't think 3 pacers will play, Cruxdude. Will be two spinners and two pacers.
(Not counting those Asia,Africa,ICC XI matches)Even in today's hard hitting batting, 300 just doesn't get chased down often enough because of the pressure a total of chasing 6 an over for 50 overs brings. 280-290 is chaseable. If a team makes 300, no matter what the opposition, I will back the team making 300 to win (except of Mick Lewis is playing).
That's an atrociously weak so-called set of spin options. They'd do well not to use that at a time when their bowling is a little weak. On flat pitches, using that would defy logic.1 Spinner + 3 Pacers
They will bowl Yuvi+Sehwag+Raina+Jadeja+Sachin as the 2nd spinner
Thanks. Does show you are more or less assured if you put 300 on the board but not so much against India and Australia.Australia and India are historically the two best chasers of 300 in world cricket, followed by NZ and SA. Winning 1 every 5 times they chase, they also tend to lose 1 in every 10.
You can't lump Australia with the other non-subcontinental teams, as they play spin a lot better and hit the ball a lot harder than the others. On a flat pitch, Jadeja can't do much, and against set batsmen looking to hit big, he is a target.Jadeja is good enough against non-subcontinental teams to bowl 10 overs in an ODI.
I was speaking about playing RJ as a specialist 5th bowler tbh. Bhajji, Mishy and RJ.Harbhajan and Mishra together is the best choice.

Thats heck of a great record for Kiwis!(Not counting those Asia,Africa,ICC XI matches)

The logic is this, if you dont have enough good all rounders and your bowling is a bit weak you play more batsmen so that you can chase whatever is set. That's an atrociously weak so-called set of spin options. They'd do well not to use that at a time when their bowling is a little weak. On flat pitches, using that would defy logic.
Jadeja will play till Yusuf Pathan/Praveen Kumar find batting form.Hang on...Ravi Jadeja as a part-timer? That suggests he won't last long in this team.
They did well against India in that single ODI in the Champions Trophy. They scored well against (top-rated frontline spinners) Bhajji and Mishra, and smashed Raina around.
Not seen Australia play ODI cricket in the last 14 or so months (apart from at the CT)? Taking runs against even the most modest of spin bowlers has seemingly been an impossible task for almost all of our batsmen. There's been quite a few good starts wasted by the teams inability to even turn the strike over against spinners.
