Tbh Arsenal's Premiership winning sides were assembled on less than Liverpool have spent over the last few years, on fractions of what Liverpool have spent in fact, at a time where Man Utd were spending a hell of a lot more. So yes, poor old Liverpool, not got the cash to compete at the top, get the violins out.

As for the last 5 pages... some complete and utter crap being spouted around.

Just seen the beach ball goal and it is the single funniest thing I can remember happening in the Premier League since Man Utd had a cry about the colour of their shirts after Southampton gave them a good dicking at the Dell.

Liverpool have spent £415m in the Premier League years. Their problem has been constant purchasing of foreign crap.

The 2002-2004 era was one of the best for that.

Florent Sinama Pongolle? Igor Biscan? Anthony Le Tallec? What were you thinking Rafa?

He was probably thinking, "why is that Houllier chap buying such rubbish players? Ah well, I'm the Valencia manager," tbh

and West Ham's season goes from bad to worse :(

Another couple of losses and there has to be questions sorrounding Zola. Doesn't get any easier either with Arsenal, Sunderland and Aston Villa up next.

Someone in this thread can probably help me with this, shouldn't the Sunderland goal have been disallowed? Not arguing that the goal was unfair for Liverpool (I think it's hilarious), purely asking out of curiosity.

Heh @ these last few pages.

Not sure how much funnier that goal could've been:

Heh, high point of that lads life. Being shown up as a complete mong on TV's all over the world.

Ex-ref in today's paper reckons it shouldn't have stood. An outside agent has interferred with play; no goal and play restarts with a drop ball.

Incidentally Feo, Gibbs and Wilshere all made appearances last night. A couple more gooduns in Frimpong and Emmanuel Thomas coming through as well. Well in Arsenal.

Green Army. I see the mighty Greens are about to appoint Paul - 25 years coaching in America - Mariner as assistant manager. I just hope Exeter are relegated as well so I don't have to frequent that cesspit next season.

Absolutely no doubt that it should never have stood, by the way. Any outside interference with the play should immediately lead to a drop ball, and this is pretty major outside interference. I've disallowed goals in U11 matches cause someone's four year old brother ran across the penalty area across the keeper at the point a shot was taken... and if I knew that rule age 17 then Prem refs really ought to. Doesn't stop it being any less hilarious, however.

Yeah I thought as much. The only thing I can think of in the Ref's favour is from his vantage point, it may have looked like the Liverpool player deflected the ball, not the beach ball.

I always thought it would just be like if the ball hit the ref and went in, I'm not a qualified ref though obv
