Jesse Smith walks out on us and is nominating for the PSD. Real shame with the way this has been handled as now we're gonna SFA for him
Gutted, had gun written all over him before the injuries, wouldn't be surprised if his leg snaps in two the next time he actually tries to kick a football though.

Restraint of trade surely. The AFLPA should sue on his behalf.

Fair enough though - if I was Carlton, I'd be scared of us as well.

Excluding yourself, I wouldn't piss on most Carlton people if they were on fire.

Most would rather die then get pissed on by a Collingwood fan, tbf :p

No more a restraint of trade than most of what goes on in trade week in general I would think.

Lions axe seven players - AFL - Fox Sports

Disappointed we're letting Macdonald go for nothing, he's been one of our more reliable defenders the past 2 seasons imo. Delighted we've seen the last of Roe though, guy's a panic attack down back, was never comfortable when he was in the team. Kinda frustrating about Hooper too, guy has talent, but i guess there's only so much inconsistency and off-field rubbish one can put up with.

I can exclusively reveal that Daniel Bradshaw has quit the Lions.

More on this stunning development as it comes to hand.

Back to you in the studio Jim.

Treat a champion, 14 year, player with contempt in a bid to secure a walking barmat who'll likely be suspended for bringing the game into disrepute at your peril it would appear.

Disastrous result for the Lions, esp. if he ends up at Carlton for nothing anyway. Hope Melbourne pick him up - would provide great mentorship for Watts.

I don't think Bradshaw should get too precious though.

Was reading a couple of weeks ago when this all came up that, in past years (may have been a while ago) Bradshaw had shopped himself around at certain stages in order to extract a better deal from Brisbane which he subsequently got. And good on him - that's business.

Is it being precious if you don't complain publicly, but instead simply vote with your feet?

I don't think it has as much to do with how he was treated by the lions, more like he doesn't see much of a place for him in the Lions forward line. Hope either him or Robbo make their way to Carlton and we'll be right back in the mix of things.

Guess he might be OK as a stop-gap measure. Would have been a good pick-up as a second forward behind Fev, admittedly. Just reckon he's a raving knob.

Can't see him working as the focal point of a forward setup now. Reckon Carlton need to find a Troy Wilson equivalent. Find some big unit whose been starring in a country league, get him to come in and train his ass of, and use him as a stop-gap.

EDIT: Or get Sticks to go stand in the goal square.

Bradshaw has been on the cards for a Brisbane trade for a while, so I don't think they disrespected him really.

I heard that he didn't know he was trade bait this year til it appeared in the press and then wasn't told the deal with Carlton wasn't going ahead til he heard that in the media as well. That's not a good way of handling the situation by the team management. It is hard though, the trade week set up makes it very hard for the teams and players.
