Looking like a fairly big score for the cobras - somewhere between 170 and 190. Not totally out of reach for Otago but obv fairly difficult. I hope B McCullum goes out and clubs it from the start.

Otago need wickets badly. Cumming's over didn't help.

So McSkimming, Butler or Wagner? Need wickets but also need economy and a good bowler for the death. I'd comprimise and go Butler.

A great wicket to bat on, but some dreadful bowling it must be said.

The batting was always going to be Otago's strength though so hopefully they can chase a 180-200 score down.

James: Disagree, with Wagner, Butler, Mascarenhas, N McCullum in your team, plus McSkimming who is a good limited overs medium pacer, the bowling is good imo. They're just not displaying it.

Don't expect B McCullum to fire tonight ftr, picking Cumming to hold the innings together.

Otago have an interesting side. Don't really need de Boorder in there though he's a decent wicketkeeper. The extra batsman, bowler or allrounder would have been handy.

Not saying the bowling is weak, but the batting is where the strength is IMO. The bowling attack is basically all medium-pace and on these kind of wickets they're going to get hit around for loads of runs as is being shown.

Wagner and Butler aint slow. Mascarenhas and McSkimming are pretty slow granted but the attack has some great variety.

Wicket! Butler strikes.

Didn't Mitchell McCleanaghan say that Wagner was one of the quickest bowlers in domestic cricket here, he's been 130-135 pretty all day.

Don't quote me, but pretty sure he's been clocked at 140ish. So maybe just a slow day?

Don't really care how quick he is as long as its not rank dibbly dobbly slow. He's pretty effective when he plays for Otago. Might be going slower to get some accuracy (a bit like what Franklin and Mills do when the perceive nothing in the pitch for them) and not doing so well at it..

Awta. Bar Wagner I would usually think of Otago's bowlers as support bowlers (including Butler & McCullum who, when they play for NZ, are support bowlers). Would have hoped to have done a bit better than this though. 180-190 is a huge score to chase.

Could be worse.

McCullum could always come out and play the anchor role. :p

Interested in Redmond actualy. Stonewalling FC and test batsman but has been quite good at 20/20. Seems very adaptable to the game form.

Puttick gets his century. Well played bastard

Kept the score under 200 which is a good finish in the end really considering where the Cobras were.

Hopefully McCullum can do a Puttick :)

Well we know Brendon McCullum will fail now, there's some pressure to score so he'll do jack yet again.

Ha, in all seriousness I think this match is over.

So Ross Taylor vs Otago for the other spot in the next round then

Have a feeling this batting line up will either epic fail or epic win this tournament.

We all know what McCullum and Broom can do if they turn up, and Rutherford, Cumming and Redmond have all played excellent and important innings before, but its also...McCullum, Redmond, Rutherford, Cumming and Broom all in the same team. See why I'm worried? :p

Don't know much at all about the Cobras bowling, but there's no front-line SA bowlers in their attack.

Don't see why on this pitch the Volts can't chase down that score.

Oh, so you've looked up Rutherford's record now? Well done.

Henderson and Kleindveldt (sic) look the pick of the bowlers in the stats at least. Anyone know much about these guys?
