Yeah, fair enough I suppose. Last time I saw him play (I think) was away at Chelsea last year, and thought he looked very much out of sorts. Has hardly featured since then iirc.

Possibly something to do with playing in the Europa League combined with the high profile causing Sky to want to cash in on it.

a) We're not in the Europa League.

b) It's an ESPN game.

And the extra game is against Everton. It was supposed to be played in the second round of the season, the mid-week round, but because Everton had Europa League it was postponed. I have no idea when it is to be played.

Could've sworn you were. And it's ESPN now? Damn. Oh well. Same thing applies, I guess - change City to Villa, change Sky to ESPN. Europa League, TV rights, money, blah blah blah. :p

It's not all ESPN, they've just taken the two games a week Setanta were showing before they went bust. And we finished 10th, what on Earth made you think we were playing Europa League?

All well and good if there were any English right back available who would be better than him.
As i've argued before i wouldn't mind having Brown back in there given how well he was performing in that position for United & ENG in 07/08 before he got injured or Hargreaves if he comes back strong in the coming months. Plus personally i still think Richards is better than Johnson - especially defensively (although he does tend to lapse in concentration).

I'd need to see him actually play badly to make that call. Maldini went on a long time in the same position.

Definitely reason enough to keep him out of consideration for England though.
Because Serie A is so slow & he wasn't playing full-back. I struggle to think Maldini could have been playing in ENG or Spain at 40 as central defender.

Neville still looks decent i'd admit, but i dont want a 35 year old full-back in the national side. I shudder at the prospect at the WC if ENG get far againts one of the big boys & he has to defend againts Ronaldo, Ribery, Robinho etc

Lets not put Hargreaves at Right Back...

If we're going to play everyone out of position, lets put Scholes in as the tough tackling Defensive Midfielder.

No comparison with Scholes.

Clealry Hargreaves when fit can play right-back & right-wing very well. He has proven that for United, Bayern & ENG.

Neville should not even be given a serious mention tbh, there is no way he should be considered at the moment. Unless he can pull together at least 40% of the games for United this season he shouldn't be considered for the World Cup either.

Jumped forward 3 pages as I CBF reading all from the last 3 days, and I'm seeing the Neviller mentioned as England Right Back?? Might aswell appoint John Barnes as manager if your gonna do that.......
