My descriptive skills aren't good enough to do it justice I'm afraid.

This describes it quite well with a still photo. But basically it was just a fizzing winner from between his legs, whilst running backwards:unsure:
Ahh.

Does have a certain flair for the big occasion, does our Roger. Did you see the shot he hit around the net post on the umpire's side of the court in the first set? Full stretch on his forehand, waaaay out of court, the gap is about 3 feet wide, and he just curled it round the post for a cold winner.

I'd turn for him, frankly.

This could be an epic final if they both return well. May need to watch it in slow mo if these two crank it with the ground strokes though.

Del Potro seems to have all the weapons to be a number one at some point.

Edit: the hotdog shot is on the US Open webtite's highlights atm if anyone is interested.

In on the Federer love, walked by him before he was well known at the Australian Open (2001 IIRC) as he was on his way to play doubles on an outside court with Dom Hbarty(sp?)), yeah, I pretty much taught him everything he knows.

EDIT: Lol at Serena

Torn here. Clijsters is so nice, gun to watch play, and her winning would be a terrific comeback story. Nut Wozniacki has been threatening all year, and it'd be awesome if she won the Slam in her first final.

Wozniacki seems to be well in this. Been a while since any female player has gone into her first slam final and not capitulated due to nerves.

Yeh good on Clijsters, thats a magnificent effort to come from a two year break to victory in a Grand Slam in her third tournament back. Pleased about that outcome.

Next time I play tennis, I'll give u a ring ripper so you can walk past my local tennis courts.

How was awesome was Fed's hotdog? Usually through the leg shots tend to go straight as there's not much room for error down there but that shot was a cracker.

Fed vs Del Potro looks like a cracker. Will go Feds in 5 tight tight sets.

Good for Kim really, but can't help but think this just highlights how bad the top of womens tennis is. Maybe if the likes of Dementieva, Kuznetsova, Venus etc... didn't choke then it might have been tougher, but I guess she did beat some handy players including Serena.
Hope this is inspiration enough for Henin to come back as well.

i would say womens tennis is now some what similar to mens tennis where the players in top ten are capable of winning aganist each other...and think it good for WTA rather than 2-3 players dominating the whole year

?

She played awesome tennis.

She's the first ever player to beat Venus and Serena in the same tournament!

And only her third tournament back after two years away from tennis. That's an unbelievable feat.

Yeh no doubt at all she played brilliant tennis, was the best player in the tournament.
But should a player be able to come back and win a grand slam like this? Would never happen in the mens game and would never have happened in the womens game 10 years ago.

It'd be awesome if she did come back, she's such a great player, so good to watch.

Well played to Clijsters too, very happy to see her win. Such a good comeback story.

I heard that Tomic won the boy's singles, so I'm happy about that. :)
