If that's the case, I don't think you're placing the blame on the right man.
Not really, he chooses not to spend whatever money they give him and the board themselves are happy for this to be the case.

And now Spurs go ahead. **** me.

Decent finish by Defoe. He is looking better every week. Surely a big club will go in for him soon:unsure:

Scored in every game for us so far this season, floored Fabregas, booted Van Persie in the face and then charged up the entire pitch to taunt the Arsenal fans. I am pretty sure Adebayor is trying to oust Paulo as my favourite player. (just kidding before anyone tries to rip my throat out )

Love that result though.

Love it when i'm in the middle of celebrating an important goal in FM and Giggs equalises, making me look more like a prophet rather than a sad **** cheering a computer game

:Arsenal

Maybe selling off two key players wasn't a wise idea for Arsene?

Please forgive me, I'm pissed.

GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
Tranmere 2 - 3 Walsall

Someones gonna be happy........
I'm a bit pissed off to, don't want Tranmere to get rid of Barnes, we've got them soon...
Never went. verdict from my mates - better than the last couple but still dog's dick. Had our keeper taken out so had a 17 y/o in goal second half and squandered the lead. Don't think we'll sack him, don't think we can afford to. He's not gonna quit because it's his last chance. He best have something up his ****ing sleeve because it's been twenty years since we were in the 4th and I don't wanna know thanks.

Pickup & grecian's boys away next week, eek

Which is all well and good but it shouldn't guarantee him a job for life. Especially when he's been taking the team and club consistently backwards over the past few years.

If he thought it was rough the treatment the team got last season, he should wait for it should it continue this season. If we finish top 4 then it's all good, but for the amount the club rape the fans for every week you expect a helluva lot more. The board are more than happy to qualify for the Champions League and make money every transfer window.

All this bluster about winning trophies is conning fans into buying season tickets.
I think you're seriously underestimating the loyalty and the intelligence of the average Arsenal fan there. Hopefully they sit in our state-of-the-art new stadium watching a young team play the most attractive football in the country and think life could be worse.

The sad fact is we aren't competing on an even playing field; the fact it isn't level is actually in our favour more often than not, but there are teams on higher financial ground than us. We can't realisitically match Chelsea, Citeh or ManUre in the transfer market. The presence of newly-minted clubs like Citeh & Real distorts the market (look at the money Citeh paid for Lescott; insanity) and Wenger (admirably IMHO) refuses to risk the medium-long term future of the club for possible but uncertain short term gain.

Yes it's 2005 since we last won a trophy, but we still there or thereabouts and no-one in their right mind would swap a League Cup for a top four spot nowadays anyway.

Toure's over the hill & Adebayor's a ****; £40m is good business for the pair of them. The long streak of piss won't look quite so up for it in a couple of months' time.

Like I've said many times before, no-one is realistically asking for us to go out and spend 80-100m every transfer window like aforementioned clubs have done in the past.

Just the fact that a club with such mediocre players consistently playing for it that does absolutely nothing to try and improve their squad. You don't need 20 million quid players to improve on some of the dross we have there. **** me, we still havent replaced Flamini, Diarra and Gilberto and our only signing of the summer was a good centre back when we have issues with an inconsistent left back, no squad depth and no defensive midfield to speak of. This was before selling two of our most senior players to a domestic rival.

I don't see how we're putting the future of the club at risk either. Unless all those financial reports they gloat about and all the times the board members and Wenger have come out and said they could spend money if they wanted were all fabrications? All those independant reviews of football clubs placing us close to the top as far as valuable and profitable clubs are figments of my imagination as well too?

We act like we don't have a pot to piss in (wrt to the transfer market) when all relevant parties maintain that we are minted as a club. Just like fans give Arsene credit for moving us into the new stadium and how well off it's made us, if the opposite is true and we are financially screwed then surely he has to take a fair chunk of the blame for pushing the club into going down this route. A club who make tens of millions more in revenue even when taking into consideration the repayments are suddenly broke?

No matter which of the above scenarios are true the club has been mismanaged somewhere along the line whether it be on the pitch or off the pitch. Probably both. I concede asking for Arsene's head might be a bit harsh, but if we continue to slip and are overtaken by another team(or possibly 2) when we have had a heap of money sitting in the bank from sales then it'll be well justified.

Yes it's 2005 since we last won a trophy, but we still there or thereabouts and no-one in their right mind would swap a League Cup for a top four spot nowadays anyway.
Probably won't need to worry about either at the end of this season tbh. At least we can finally win the Europa League in our shiny new stadium.

You're missing the point; no Prem clubs, aside from those with billionaire benefactors, have a pot to piss in. Most of them have annual operating losses in the tens of millions, which is pretty much directly down to inflated transfers & wage bills. Sooner or later the piper has to be paid; witness the fire sale at poor old Pompey and I can bet yer Spurts will be in the same situation in 18-24 months too.

Arsenal's growth over the past decade has been down to on-field success (thank you M. Wenger) & sound financial planning. We're not blessed with an Abramovich or oil-wealthy Arabs to fund wanton sprees with their largesse. So if Arsene sees no benefit to the club in miring it with more debt or considers certain players overpriced, then fine. I'd far rather have a manager unwilling to hock the club than one like Benitez who's constantly moaning that he's only given £20-odd million to spend when his team had a loss of (IIRC) £53m for the last financial year.

Delighted with that performance. Great game from Giggs after a horrendous showing against Arsenal. Much more upbeat about the season after that.

Spurs looked seriously demoralised at the end. Hopefully we can burst another early-season bubble next week. Will be the biggest Manchester derby in my lifetime.

Yeah United were v good, Spurs crumbled and defended shoddily.

The more things change the more they stay the same....

Seeing the 'stamp' then, i'd be bloody impressed if Adebayor could've deliberatly planted that stamp. In real time cant really see him move his foot at Van Persie, or make a downward movement at his head, only thing could see was he turned his foot just before impact.....

Sure if Clattenberg could've he would've sent him off for the celebration. Great advantage he played for the goal though. He couldn't have not booked him and left it to the FA either, because its not like he can claim he didnt see it.

Think the FA should still hit him for that though

Edit: Yeah completely rescind point 1 there, watching it again, i'm completely wrong.

Lol, just went through the same process with my dad (who's a citeh fan), on first glance, just looks like he's off balance and continuing his momentum, on further inspection, hes a ****
