Seeing as it wasn't David Hussey selected, we should have had White at 4 or 5, with Ferguson at 4 or 5 too. White at 7 is useless, IMO.

Haha I knew that'd happen as soon as I typed it. Was a promising start from Denly though, just a bad shot to get himself out, no foot movement at all.

Time for Belowpara to fail again I really want him to make a score at a decent SR, but just can't see it happening.

England's solid start is all about Strauss, not about Denly. Strauss has been impressive all summer and seems to get better and better. Let's see if any English batter can finally give some assistance to Strauss!

Could well get Gelman's wish re: Michael Clarke chasing a large score today, going by this start. I fear that with Ponting being back though, Cam White will be wasted down the order once more. As long as he doesn't get a bowl I suppose.

50 for Strauss. Superb knock so far. Striking at over 100 and looking the part in One Day cricket. As long as he's in this sort of form he needs to stay in the side. Have to stick with this top 3 for the rest of the series at least. Would prefer to see Shah or Morgan at 4 though, in place of Prior. Prior's just going to slow this run rate down as soon as Ravi inevitably throws his wicket away.

You can't reallllly be in that excellent a position with 90% of the game still to play.

Strauss has been awesome here. Australia pretty dire except for Hauritz who's been really good.

Yeah, you can't fault Strauss since coming back into the fold. Been averaging over 40 and going at a good S/R. Be nice if he converted one of those half-centuries into a century.
