***Official*** English Domestic Season 2009

I noticed Holding wasn't too impressed with the suggestion of Smith getting back near the WI limited overs side. Basically said he would have to come back and play WI domestic cricket to give himself a chance. I suppose fair enough as he was ****ing crap when he played for them.

Err does that mean no-one with a worse FC record than Ramprakash could have ever make it as a Test cricketer?
No, but thats a whole different arguement. We talking about the ODI team & the clear crap standard OD cricket that has exisited in this country for a very long time. Cook aint a ODI cricketer - thats not a debate & you know it.

And what exactly is the difference between using your logic on Test/FC and ODI/List A stats?

I'm sure I could look around and pluck out players with good List A stats who failed in ODIs anyway.

Very bad shell from The World's Best Wicketkeeper™ at Taunton there, absoloutely regulation, chest height, run off the face. Tres has had a couple of lives already.

Yeah, could be quite easily the easiest catch I've ever seen a proffesional drop, funny considering he is probably the best keeper I've ever seen as well.

Good match on Sky this evening - plenty of twists and turns. Essex dump Somerset out of the Pro 40 with top performances by Maunders and Phillips. By happy coincidence, the only two sides who can now win it, Worcs and Sussex, are due to meet in the last match. Shades of Canterbury 1993.

edit: Somerset can still do it if they win their three remaining games, they play Worcs at New Road on Monday.

Somerset must be kicking themselves - should have won that at a canter.

But for one more gust of wind they might have done as well.

Napier was very good last night. Shame that he was never given a go by England. Luke Wright has played over 30 times for England and amount of good things he has done could be counted on one hand.

Well its the England selectors, seriously cannot understand their plan with ODI cricket.
Yeah, it's weird Napier hasn't been given a go. He's the exact type of player that they've gone out of their way to pick before - multi-skilled player, generates good pace with the ball and can hit the ball out of the ground. The only difference between him and the other players they've picked for this sort of thing before is that he's actually good at it domestically, so I suppose that's what's stopping his selection.

Durham really punishing Notts. 281/0 Divenuto 162*, Coetzer 97*.

Lancs 198/5 at Taunton .... Owe it to Horton who's 117*.

Going by Ant Botha's figures (4 for 58 off 28), Chawla should enjoy himself when he gets to bowl.

That's got to be the hope. The word from Hove is that it's turning square. Pushy and Rayner, plus the part-timers (Yardy, Nash) will get a lot of bowling.

Durham lose their first wicket, now 314/1. One run short of Durham's all time record partnership.

Coetzer run out backing up for 107.
