Oh good they're too dumb to use Swann, a guy who has frequently opened the batting for his county in fielding restrictions situations in favour of a guy who if we're lucky might score 4 an over.
Yup - sums up the level of thinking that goes into our oneday play.

Truly horrible batting lineup, isn't it. Was Trott injured or did they just not pick him?

EDIT
And as for Strauss not taking the PP when better batsmen were set and the spinners bowling. Beggars belief.

Oh FFS Gash, why are you batting above Swanneh?!

If Sideh comes in before Jimmeh as well i'm gonna be a vereh angreh Matteh.

Yep. Rashid looks a terrible One Day batsman against pace. A few horrible shots, making Luke Wright look like Sachin Tendulkar with that last one.

RE Trott: As I've mentioned a few times, made 93 for Warwickshire yesterday, he's fit. Our selectors are just morons.

Another 1up for our selectors is the fact that the 23 year old wicket keeper who's hit back to back OD hundreds for his county is also not in the team.

How Steve Davies isn't playing i'll never know.

Nor the guy that's the leading One Day run scorer in England, Ed Joyce. Instead, we're stuck with Strauss, Prior, Shah, Collingwood and Wright. Oh joy.

Well in UV King of Wright lad. Better to go down swinging than to dab a reverse sweep to Mitchell Johnson.

UV King of Gash! Shot Adeh.

28* from 18 balls is an epic effort. Nowhere near good enough to be opening in One Day cricket, but I'm happy with him doing a job smacking boundaries down at 7. Just need to get the 6 above him right.

I agree that there could be a couple of changes in our batting. But you've got to pick guys who do a variety of things. I don't see a problem with Strauss, Bopara, Collingwood or Wright.

I think all I'd do then is potentially swap the keeper (although I would in some ways like to see Prior have a settled run in a certain position), and definitely swap Shah (presumably that would be for Trott).

24 from 2 shows how poor Strauss's decision was to take the batting power play this late...

He should have taken that atleast 8-10 overs earlier with Shah and Colly batting!

Bopara is like a crap version of Ian Bell, that's the problem with him.

Wtf was Bopara doing all his innings?

Batted through 15 overs of power plays, yet ended up with a strike rate of 55 ffs.

Get him back to Essex and leave him there!

You want to swap the guy who scored 40 runs at the SR of 83? Strangely biased opinion!

And a crap version of Ian Bell is like a polished turd.

I can't wait for Kieswetter to be English, I really can't.
