Should jump over them and stay on your feet IMO
AWTA

Having actually played football (thereby negotiating the **** 'can't do, don't criticise' argument), when i'm one on one and have nudged it past the keeper or am pulling out in order to try to avoid smashing the keepers' face, i jump up and over not fall forwards.

How do you expect to miss the challenge if you just fall? Also, instinct kicks in and tells you that you should stay on your feet (which is why people who aren't normally goalies are ****house in goal when they have to play there), there's a conscious decision to fall rather than jump and that's effectively simulation.

Lot of debate for what was a stonewall penalty in today's age and horrible piece of goal keeping.

No real comparison with Eduardo, as the Rooney penalty had clear contact which he bought and the Eduardo penalty, there was no contact, just pure theatre.

The fact that everyone else does it is a pretty rubbishy sort of defence for anyone. Something being an accepted practice isn't the same as being right. I wouldn't have expected Rooney to do any differently and Alumunia was rash, but the very fact that he was going down before contact makes it pretty much analogus with Eduardo's; just more skillfully executed.

Rooney was always going to be brought down with the momentum he was going with, i dont think he could have avoided Almunia TBF..

I'm not with the players that have been in front of him during his career.
More post 2006 WC. Of course Aguero & Messi are first choice. But tall strikers like Crespo who is passed it & Cruz have been picked in recent years. Milito has been better than them since 2006 at least.

The only way diving will be eradicated is by introducing video refs, but Platini doesn't want to do that for some unearthly reason.
It's debates like these that make me understand why. You'd have to write up about just how much contact justifies going down, and whether or not you can jump over someone if they are going to take you down, etc.

Only solution? Allow nasty tackles! Part of the game. Rugby, without hands. :D

Nico Kranjcar off to Spurs.

The only surprise about the move is that Nico isn't represented by Willy.

Spurs also looking to sign Citeh's Martin Petrov. Big fan of Martin, hasn't got the pace he once had but he still is a good winger. Shame Rovers haven't got a pot, be a fantastic signing and Petrov wouldn't even have to move home.

Reckon Lisandro Lopez is better than all bar Messi. A bold statement, but I am making it. Good in the air, good technically, got everything and a motor that won't stop.

Haha if this is true then Portsmouth are as good as down, their one good player remaining now gone, they really have no hope.

Milito has a far superior goal scoring record though, Lopez has only managed to score more than ten goals in a season twice in his entire career.

Lopez scores about a goal every other game and has a better goal per game ratio than Diego Milito (0.48 vs 0.42). Diego is 30 and Lopez 26 years old to boot.

Why is there no Prem until September 12?
International break.
