He was atrocious last time he played for NZ, worse than McIntosh, worse than James Marshall even.

Brendon gone early, who would have thought?

That was weird, it was like McCullum picked that it was the Doosra, yet adjusted too much. If he did pick it, it just shows how unsuited he is to Test cricket if his immediate response was to try and heave it away.

No average-saving 50 for McCullum then.

I've got a good idea - let's leave it up to Vettori to rescue us from <200/6, we haven't tried that recently

But what changes are there to make? No number 3's have really extinguished themselves (save Myburgh, who won't qualify for another season).
I hope things aren't quite that drastic - even if they're crap at cricket there are still plenty of other things in life to enjoy

I think his distinct lack of foot work is a bigger concern. He just stood there and swung, huge gap between bat and pad and he wasnt even close to the pitch of the ball. But, I think we all knew before this series he was going to struggle, probably the worst player of spin in the lineup.

There's Fulton, who obviously has one of the best records in NZ first-class cricket and has been in good form for NZA as well. Though in saying that he looked pretty awful last time he played for NZ and I remember mentally casting him on the scrapheap then.
Yes me too. Was very similar case to Sinclair in that I thought he'd been screwed round by the selectors and was pleased when they finally selected him. Then he showed a total inability to move his feet and generally looked awful, so thought his chance at a long stint in the side was likely gone.

So what have we actually won with Moles coaching us again. Have we won anything other then that T20 series against India?

Wouldn't go criticising Moles too much if I were you, he's a selector now remember, I'm sure he has eyes and ears everywhere

damn they need to bring in warnapura in this side.
The guy catches everything at shortleg, I think 4 drop catches at shortleg/silly mid in this game.

Oh FFS. Ryder's scores this series - 42, 24, 23, 38.

Four starts and not a single fifty. Disappointing.

We are not up to test status, seriously, this is a disgusting effort by 90% of the team and Moles cannot wash his hands of it.

We cant even compete with teams at test level now. Please tell me its going to rain.

Everyone keeps saying it is SL in SL - so not to take it to heart. So I am trying to remind myself of this. But we lost to India as well and Australia and England and SA.

Anyways I hope the ICC doesn't read your post with their thoughts of demoting us into a second tier of test cricket.

As for Moles - don't even worry about questioning his place with the team as they just invested further in him by making him a selector. He is here for at least the next 3 years - how long is his contract?

Those test series against England were pretty close. Especially the series in NZ (remember, we were up 1-0 after the Hamilton test) and we did throw away a winning position in one of the tests in England.

This series against Sri Lanka has pretty much gone the way any smart NZ cricket follower would have predicted. So, while it's disappointing, it is hardly surprising to see us perform like this.

Not quite sure where this "get rid of Moles" talk has come from. What exactly has he done wrong?
