Rey Mysterio has been suspended from WWE for 30 days for a wellness policy violation. Not entirely surprising as Rey during his younger years was really small and throughout his entire WWE career he has been really huge.

It is disappointing to see Rey gone but it's his bad decisions that cost him is suspension. Good work from WWE to enforce their wellness policy and suspend Rey Mysterio even though he's one of their biggest stars.

Rey's suspension starts from next Wednesday so it is likely he will drop his Intercontinental Championship on Smackdown next week. It's a perfect opportunity for Dolph Ziggler to become Interncontinental Champion.

Not surprising now that it's happened, like you say, Rey's muscles have looked too big for his body for quite some time now. Ziggler should have gone over Mysterio at Summerslam anyway in my opinion, so this is his big chance to step up, hope he does the job.

Just watching vintage collection reminds me of how bad WCW commentary was. In a match between Chris Jericho & Curt Hennig I don't think any wrestling hold was called they just went on about Hogan, Sting & Bischoff.

Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay &( as much as I love the guy for his pre Nitro hey day stuff) Bobby Heenan where terrible which is suprising considering the quality of the rest of the product. It could have been worse I suppose it could have been a pre heel turn Bischoff & Mongo (shudders).

Anyway watching an absolute classic between the Stieners & the Harts

Oh my god was the pre roided to **** Scotty Steiner awesome but how the hell he didn't cripple anyone I will never.know.

He did sick brain busters, tiger drivers, Death Valley drivers as well as various german suplexes where Scotty would just drop guys on their heads.

Much like the current WWE commentary tbh. The reason Joey Styles got booted from RAW to ECW and then booted from there to go and work on WWE.com was because he was constantly told off for talking about all the holds and throws and because he failed to "tell the story". Crying shame, for mine Styles is the finest pro wrestling commentator out there, I used to love good old JR, but his increasing age and the fact that he is also no longer to talk about the moves done in the ring to any great extent means that he is pretty much spent. The WWE commentary set up in general is a bit crap at the moment for mine. Michael Cole is pretty horrible, and seems to say "I have never seen <insert wrestling move/hold/undertaker being beaten down> like this EVER" on a near weekly basis, and is just generally fail (though back in 99-2000 I really quite liked him). King is alright, used to love it when he played a semi-heel commentator and always cheered on HHH and Chris Benoit and took the piss out of all the faces, but these days he is pretty generic and just rolls out the old cliches and goes on about how he's never seen anything like anything ever. T Grish and Matt Striker are alright, quite entertaining in fact, but they don't really strike me as being good enough for anything better than hosting ECW and Afterburn and those type of shows. JBL was an awesome commentator, if they can get him to come back then that would be great, always think it's really good to have an ex-wrestler to do the colour commentary, adds credibility to a match when they can talk about how they faced X opponent or were in X type of match etc... Always liked Taz for this very reason, and the fact that he was an absolute gun, his spontanious on air swearing always made me laugh, loved it how when some big name was drafted away from ECW at a particular draft show he just blurted out "F***!" on live TV. Always thought Josh Matthews was pretty good as well, but seems like he has been relegated away from doing the backstage interviews so god knows where he is at these days. I really liked Coach after they turned him into a heel character who ran around with Bischoff, but at all other times he was pretty stale, though all the promo's he did with the Rock were absolutely legendary, WAG.

Loved JBL as commentator thought he & Cole where really good, liked how JBL remained in his heel character but still managed to put over the baby faces. Seemed like he had a genuine knowledge and respect for the history of business.

Didn't really like or disslike Taz was just there for me, did find his constant arse licking of HHH really annoying.

JR & the King are just shells of themselves now. I do feel a bit sorry for JR in that he is the colour commentator really is best as a play by play man.

Talking about JR I remember a match with Edge & Christian & the Hardy's in which he must have called about 8 different moves a 'modified neck braker' everything from the twist of fate, to the unprettier & downward spiral. The King had to correct him several times it was embarrasing to watch. Whether it was just a bad night at the office I don't know but I thought he'd lost it to his credit though he seemed to improve out of sight a few months later.

I did like Paul Heyman as commentator though thought him and JR meshed very well.

If you believe what you read on the internet, & who doesn't, then the commentary is done by Vince, Steph & HHH in the Gorilla position & the commentators are just drones repeating it. You could move the commentators to different shows and but for the accents wouldn't notice any difference.

It's a shame because you will probably never get another Ventura/Monsoon Heenan/Monsoon or even 90's King/JR. Basically a commentator with a bit of character.

Yeah indeed, Vince screaming through the headset at the commentary team is one of the reasons Mick Foley quit the company to go to TNA apparently, can't say I blame him either. Not sure why Michael Cole has put up with it for so long either to be honest, he seems like a nice guy and is a very good journalist so why the hell he puts up with all this crap is beyond me, apparently Vince always singles him out for criticism as well for some reason.

You're right about JR getting in a muddle though, has been going on for years now, routinely gets moves wrong, can never remember which one of the Hardyz/Edge and Christian is which, just babbles all sorts of garbage, still love the guy though, for the really really big moments I still feel he is the top man for the job, but that may be nostalgia more than anything.

WCW commentary when done right was very good. Didn't exactly happen often admittedly but in a lot of matches like the Rey vs Eddie's and the like the commentary did manage to put over the wrestlers and the significance of the matches very very well.

I guess that would mostly be a PPV thing though, the Nitro commentary wasn't the greatest by any stretch of the imagination.

King was so great as a heel commentator in the late 90s, early 00s, personally felt he was better than ventura. Though listening to Ventura during Hogan matches is ace.

King was great, nowadays he is just part of the furniture. I do agree with the view that Heel commentators are a bit of a dated idea, but King is just so bland without it. He could be a heel whilst also being very likeable at the same time, loved his commentary at the Royal Rumble in 2000 during the street fight. Just remember him saying "what!? No! Get that thing away from that idiot!" in response to Foley picking up the barbed wire bat, and then when HHH got hold of it he was all "YES! Use it! It's ok!", then JR chipping in with his "No it is not ok goddamn it!", Classic.

Smackdown this week looks like a really great show, will try and get it on youtube later.

Highlights though, without spoiling anything, apparently Rey Mysterio and John Morrison had an amazing PPV quality match, can't wait to get hold of that.

Rock and Coach had some great moments, and shared great chemistry, probably the only good thing the Coach ever did in the WWE was cut promo's with the Rock and host Superstars tbh, still quite liked the guy though. Doesn't he work for ESPN doing their NBA coverage or something like that?

Smackdown was too good this week. Rey Mysterio vs John Morrison put on an abosolute classic match. It was an amazing match which was PPV quality and probably the best television match I've seen in a long time.

I never liked John Morrison much before but he put on a hell of a show with Rey. Credit should go to Rey as well because he really put John Morrison over in this match. Well done to both Rey Mysterio and John Morrison for putting on such a great display.

Yeah, what a match. Morrison has been in all the best TV matches this year, his ones with Edge & CM Punk were also amazing.

Yeah, that was good stuff, just watched it now. I really think that Morrison being put in a program with Ziggler could work wonders as well. Will be great to get a new feud out of two of the up and coming guys in the company. Hopefully they can put something together in the same vein as Jericho and Benoit managed a few years back, will keep an eye open for these two.

Before Saturday's Smackdown house show at the Manuel Iguina Coliseum in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, the Big Show and The Great Khali got into a fight backstage. Apparently there has been heat there for some time, as Big Show feels that Khali uses moves that should be exclusive to Big Show as a giant.

While their six-man tag match was being put together, the two began arguing and then fighting. Big Show threw the first punch, which Khali blocked, and Show eventually slipped and fell down. Khali then got on top of him, and that was when several wrestlers broke it up and kept them apart.

Among the wrestlers, the blame was being put on The Big Show for the incident.
Sounds a bit out of character for Big Show, from what I can gather he always sounded like one of the nice guys backstage, who was very calm and was unlikely to be riled, must say I found this funny though, if it's true anyway. Always nice to see someone who acts like a bit of an idiot backstage get what is coming to them.

Have also heard Khali is a nice guy backstage, too. Very puzzling.

I don't care what people say, Bob Barker on Raw was money. The guy got the biggest pop I've heard in years and was awesome. Hard to believe he's 86.
