Don't really think you should be picking your Test team based on outfielding TBH.
I'm not sure - I reckon it's a factor that can properly be taken into account, particularly when you have two reasonably evenly-matched candidates for a spot in the team. The weight that can be attached to that factor varies depending on the circumstances.

There are exceptional cases when the fielder is so outstanding that his fielding can be a weighty factor - Jonty Rhodes being an obvious example.

It will also depend on who else you've got in your team. If you've got a team made up of the likes of Panesar and Vaughan then the case for picking a Collingwood instead of a Shah becomes pretty overwhelming.

And in some cases, the player is so outstanding at his main discipline that you'd forgive him for fielding like a guano-streaked statue. Murali might be the best example, but while his fielding may be hit-and-miss, at least he has a good throwing arm.

Don't really agree; I reckon the effect of ground-fielding and throwing arms in Test cricket is vastly over-rated by some people. I have no issue with catching being taken into consideration though, particularly slips catching.

Looks like the youngsters are going to fall short of 200 at Hove - second series win for Bangladesh in the space of a week?

Amazing aspect is they have done it without an overseas pro, should have signed dave warner to a long term contract on his 20/20 form, would have been a sensation in pro 40.

That is ridiculous isn't it - Bangladesh under-19s bowled their overs so quickly that they have to bat for 20 minutes - the 40 minute break can't be taken before 6 o'clock apparently.

I agreed with Nick Knight, they should have the choice and not feel penalised for bowling too quickly - 30 minutes before the longer break is a tricky period for the batting side.

England once again useless against the spin, just the 45 overs of it today.

And it seems like for England it is Northeast or nothing.

Yep ridiculous.

Durham have rather a lot of bowling options in their game.

When is it? Not sure which of this team will be eligible tbh.
Next year in New Zealand. It was to be held in Kenya but was moved.

Best place for England outside of this country to impress, they would really struggle in Kenya.

I assume you mean early next year - Feb/March, around that time ... will 19 year olds be able to play? Josh Cobb of Leics turns 19 next month. He could be one to watch.

He's playing today and has probably played a few limited overs games. Think he played in a FC game earlier but didn't do very well with the ball.
OK thanks, Wiseman has gone though hasn't he? Tbh two thirty-something NEQ off-spinners was probably one too many.

You have to be U19 at 1 september so no, Cobb won't be available. Northeast, Wheater, Wood also unavailable as well as Riazuddin who is in the squad but not playing in this game. There are also a few others(James Harris, Redfern, Mickleburgh, Willey, Liam Dawson) who will also still be 19 at the time of the tournament but won't b qualified.
