Well obviously it doesn't matter against this lineup but if they can piece together a few world class spinners and get Mortaza and another seamer on form they'll have a decent attack. So far hes creamed this West Indian team, just want to know how he looks.Doesn't matter, he isn't getting out test class cricketers.
Don't know if anyone on the forum at all is actually getting coverage of this, TBH. Shivfan, perhaps?Well obviously it doesn't matter against this lineup but if they can piece together a few world class spinners and get Mortaza and another seamer on form they'll have a decent attack. I'm following it on an internet site....Don't know if anyone on the forum at all is actually getting coverage of this, TBH. Shivfan, perhaps?
Anyway, Mahmudullah's First Class record in a really poor competition tends to suggest that his Test statistics are ridiculously flattering given he'd taken 44 First Class wickets in 39 games with no five wicket innings before his Test debut. He looked a little bit better than those First Class figures suggested when I saw him bowl in ODIs, to be fair to him, but he's definitely more a batting allrounder than anything else, regardless of how Bangladesh seem to want to use him in this series.
Yeah, Shakib hasn't really played that many First Class games though, and the majority of them were either a couple of years ago or Test matches. Mahmudullah doesn't even really play as a frontline bowler domestically TBH, although his batting in various competitions over the last year or so has been awesome. When I saw him in ODIs I rated him, pretty surprised that his record is this bad. Shakibs domestic record isn't all that great either TBH.
I hope we never see Ryan wearing WI colours again....Hinds' international career over BTW.
I'm getting coverage. Kind of distracted by other stuff though but he looks decent enough from when I've been watching.Don't know if anyone on the forum at all is actually getting coverage of this, TBH. Shivfan, perhaps?

Well that's because it seems they didn't want to rush through any youngsters and also because he's been making runs. He made most of his runs against the team in the FC competition without good spinners though so his stats are skewed. If it wasn't so bare, they wouldn't keep going back to past failures like Morton.
Can you imagine Runako against this trio of spinners?
Anyhow, the captain didn't last long.
ICC made mention of not wanting a team comprised like this to go to the Champions Trophy so we'll see.You reckon there will be a resolution to the dispute soon, then?
Surely he wouldn't get dropped from this team. As bad as he may have looked at Test level, he clearly has the ability to be much better unlike... whoever the alternative is.
And my point is that being a professional cricket in title and pay doesn't automatically make you better than an amateur cricket. I can think of many pro cricketers worse than Kemar Roach. There needs to be a gradual move toward a system. These players can't expect to be treated like every other pro cricketer from the outset. A contract and some money shouldn't be the motivation to turn a poor player in a world-class one. Respect is earned.Yeah but just saying these players adapting a more professional approach to their game in terms of prepaparation will improve their consistency which was Powell's point. Professionalism in preparation and attitude to the game.
In fairness, Shakib is a bit better than a part-time spinner.he's just not capable of batsmanship at Test level. For someone who bowls part-time spin, he's absolutely clueless batting against it.
Never thought I'd defend the WICB, but this is harsh in this scenario. Have you forgotten that there's a player strike on? Dowlin almost certainly would never have played a Test otherwise. It's not like there are many other options when your best 15-16 are officially striking and a host of others are afraid to piss off the union that represents them. What

Looked to get good turn on the ball... I've heard. Is Mahmudullah Test class?
Yeah but the strike is their fault so they don't get any sympathy.Never thought I'd defend the WICB, but this is harsh in this scenario. Have you forgotten that there's a player strike on? Don't get brainwashed into thinking WICB: evil, players: saints. It's the fault of both parties.Yeah but the strike is their fault so they don't get any sympathy.
Management should still be able to keep their players happy and in line, the WICB's ineptness caused it to go as far as the strike. Sure some of the blame should go to the players but the WICB should have never even let it come close to going down this road.Don't get brainwashed into thinking WICB: evil, players: saints. You're missing the point. A proper professional attitude will ensure that the players do extar practice to improve on areas of their game that's lacking. Just like Edwards did to impriove his bowling and Chanderpaul did to improve up on his batting. And my point is that being a professional cricket in title and pay doesn't automatically make you better than an amateur cricket. "The customer is always right" ey? So whatever the players do, it's the responsibility of the board to keep them happy? Surely that's just asking for more trouble.Management should still be able to keep their players happy and in line, the WICB's ineptness caused it to go as far as the strike. Agreed. According to Hinds this thing was mostly sorted the last strike threat earlier this year btu the WICb reneged on certain things and relations broke down from there.Management should still be able to keep their players happy and in line, the WICB's ineptness caused it to go as far as the strike. Sure some of the blame should go to the players but the WICB should have never even let it come close to going down this road.
