It did considering he was awful in South Africa and his average reflected that.Hilfenhaus finally taking wickets... his Stuart Broad-esque bowling average doesn't do him justice, tbh.
196 for 0 to -400ao. Abysmal stuff.7 wickets lost for 100 odd.
Because his dad's slipping a few brown envelopes to the selectors.Broad shouldn't be playing. Was he picked because he offers something with the ball or because he offers something with the bat? Either decision is a wrong one, IMO.
Nah, just Siddle and Johnson were awesome. Hilfenhaus played his role well.It did considering he was awful in South Africa and his average reflected that.
Surely not.If Stuart Broad takes the new ball ahead of OnIons, Im going to be very very upset.
Not taking wickets, bowling too short and getting stick? He was rank.Nah, just Siddle and Johnson were awesome. Hilfenhaus played his role well.
Some claim that, some claim he was innocuous in good bowling conditions. One thing's for sure, he didn't "play his role" because no-one would've told him "don't try to take wickets".Nah, just Siddle and Johnson were awesome. Hilfenhaus played his role well.
Abysmal is being generous imo.196 for 0 to -400ao. Abysmal stuff.
At least there's the consolation of another duckless Anderson knock.
Only hope now as I say is that the bowlers outdo themselves and England thus get a chance to do better in the second-innings before any such time as the pitch deteriorates.Abysmal is being generous imo.
Andy Salzman the other day was saying if this lot an open-top bus trip around London they'll have to queue like the rest of the tourists. Personally I'd like to see them do it & get pelted with whatever crap people can lay their hands on for the way they've approached this series. If they have a brain between them, I've not seen it.
But some part of you must realise that we are England and we don't do cricket like the other teams. No way is this abysmal... we've got 379 runs in the bank, and it's good bowling conditions. It's average, perhaps, but not abysmal.
Yeah, you're right. Australia have difficulty bowling on flat pitches too. I still expect a draw, but England's best chance of victory is to get Australia in while the ball's swinging.I think that's a bit harsh. Australia themselves only started taking wickets when the ball started swinging.
Its this sort of attitude that England have also maintained and is why they will never be anywhere near the best team in the world anytime soon.No way is this abysmal... we've got 379 runs in the bank, and it's good bowling conditions. It's average, perhaps, but not abysmal.
