Dire, that match has now in fact been confirmed, let's be grateful that Vince Russo isn't booking this, or Green would probably walk out the world champion.

Raw wasn't a bad show. I thought Seth Green did a decent job as a Guest Host and the matches on the show were decent. Chris Jericho was on again and I like the direction they are going with Mark Henry. He's a fresh new addition to the upper mid card mix on Raw.

I also really enjoyed the Swimsuit Divas Match tonight featuring the 6 women.

Gail Kim was awesome as always and she's one of the most athletically gifted and talented girls in WWE.

I am in love with Maryse btw, so so much

Anyway, Raw was - alright - it's been alright lately, better than its slump following Backlash, but I just watch Raw whilst I sit on CW and chat on msgr, whereas I really sit and watch Smackdown (and I would ECW but it's on at a silly time and I always forget to tape it).

Seth Green coming out to WTTJ was beyond awesome, he did a decent job at getting the crowd pumped and honestly didn't wreck the main event. It wasn't awful.

Just hyped to find out Y2J's partner, as I may have said I was thinking Ziggler, but then again he is going to fight RMJ for the IC title it seems, so I dunno. Can't really think of anyone else good enough.

I'm glad he cut a promo on Edge, hopefully it means that the feud they were going to have next month will instead happen when Edge returns as a face.

Again, felt that RAW (apart from the Jericho segment) was fairly routine and dull. I really hate the celebrity involvement business. Thought the fact that Randy Orton again failed to pick up the win over Cena/HHH further undermined his credibility, but at least he didn't get buried or even worse somehow get pinned by Seth Green.

Just reading some Smackdown results and without spoiling anything it seems that they are going to be pushing Edge towards being a face upon his return. The crowd were solidly behind Edge apparently.

If Edge can come back before Royal Rumble, he'd have to be a favourite to win it. If he comes back by Wrestlemania then a Edge vs Chris Jericho match seems like a great way to go. After Wrestlemania with Edge being face, this leads to the possibility of an Edge and Christian reunion.

Yeah, I think Jericho will win the gold shortly before Edge comes back. Jericho's comments on Raw certainly showed that they were going to go in the right direction, and we will still get the Edge-Jericho showdown that we were set to get at SUmmerslam. TBH I think that it is a match worthy of Mania rather than Summerslam anyway.

Yeah indeed, would really make it great if it was for a world title as well. Edge returning at the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant would be superb. Reckon Christian will have turned heel by this point though, so a reunion with him might be unlikely. That said, if he has turned heel, then Edge v Christian for a Wrestlemania may be back on the cards, and that would be a definite mark out moment.

Watched a bit of WM XX this morning, so weird to see how behind John Cena the crowd were, sad that he doesn't get such a reaction these days, as quite frankly he has done nothing to deserve the shocking reception he gets pretty much on a nightly basis.

He has a thankless job, imo. He's stuck with a character the writers are too scared to alter, and those very writers were (are?) giving him ****ty lines that made him lose all credibility with the audience.

I know I keep going on about this, but he was handled perfectly during the Smackdown Six era. Either he had better people scripting his promos, or he was given free reign. Whatever it was, he really was popular even as a heel back then. The reaction to his face turn was insane.

His promo work has got a bit better recently imo, it seems whoever is writing them now (or he himself) has been given permission to acknowledge the fact that he routinely gets a poor reception, his interview with the Miz a while back included something like "I know what it's like to headline Wrestlemania with Shawn Michaels and get booed out of the building", personally I think touches like that do help establish a bit more credibility and give a touch of realism to things, but in reality I think until he is turned heel again and then turned back to face he will never win over the majority of the crowds he performs in front of.

I go on about this as well, but it really pisses me off no end the way he gets treated. For one, it's obvious he is an incredibly hard working guy who really busts his ass to put on the best show possible for the crowd and really seems to care about what he is doing. Secondly, he's not that bad in ring, no worse than a lot that has gone before him, and he has improved immensely. His TLC matches with Edge show how he's willing to take big bumps to put on a show. Thirdly, I know there are parts of the crowd who grumble at Batista, but he is mega over. Cena is, was, and always will be twice the worker Batista is in pretty much every aspect, but yet it's despised by so many.

I suppose it is still very "fashionable" to boo Cena etc..But for me it's just got to a stage where its tedious, people need to grow up and move on. Like you say, the fact that the writers aren't really able to change his character or even turn him heel due to all the merchandising issues etc... but the only way Cena can ever really get over now is if he is turned into a heel in the same way that the Rock was, it would undoubtedly be a success, and the momentum generated from a turn back to face would be immense and probably very well received.

Props to the guy imo, by no means a favourite of mine, but he certainly has my respect.

Two words to sum it all up really sledger, smarky bastards
Well yes and no imo, the other day I was speaking to a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in a while, who I discovered was a casual wrestling fan. I asked him who his favourites performers were, and his answer was "HHH", I thought to myself "yeah ok fair enough, solid enough choice for a casual fan". But then he said something like "not John Cena though, he's really **** isn't he?", when I asked him to explain why, he pretty much had no idea, just spouted something like "he's just really ****", which made be go a little bit irrate inside, but I really couldn't be bothered trying to explain the error of his ways to him. But it's sad that even people who are not at all smarks are beginning to follow this rather unfortunate chain of thought.

Well yeah, but don't you think the smark reaction has something to do it? Like, people watch wrestling casually, see the supposed good guy getting booed, and think, he's ****.

On a side note, regarding the smackdown spoilers...highlight the below...

What the hell is with CM Punk losing cleanly to John Morrison again? Morrison is great and all, but Punk is (once again) looking like a very feeble world champion when he's losing to midcarders week in and out.

Jericho is going to release a sequel to A Lion's Tale, tentatively called Undisputed Attitude. The book will be released in fall 2009
WAG, really looking forward to this, his last book was great and as this one focuses on his time in the WWE it should be very interesting to say the least, I will definitely be purchasing.
