*Official* Pakistan in Sri Lanka

Superb show by Lankans. Needs 500 though. Batting last will not be easy, as ball will spin very quickly on this with ample bounce. And Ajmal with turn and bounce will be very difficult to handle.

The good thing about times like these are that the Pakistan-supporting trolls flee the forum (we don't seem to get many Sri Lankan ones). Respect to the Pakistan fans still posting

Like Alam to the slaughter.

Pakistan can draw or win this game, they just gotta hope Fawad converts to a double and everyone bats around him to reach 500 and give Sri Lanka about 300 to chase.

90 all out in 1st innings & then lost just one & reached near 170-180 in 2nd innings :D
And equally capable of crashing out for 250 total tomorrow. That's Pakistan for you.

Alam played a great innings. I still don't want to see him as an opener. I want Pakistan to groom specialist openers, as hard as it is. Alam can find a spot in the middle order somewhere.

good day but then this is Pakistan may be bowled out for 250 come tomorrow as Fusion said always supported Alam though he is not an opener and should not be sacrificed despite this performance.

hopefully Misbah honeymoon will be over and he gets shown the door, Malik to be next on list if he does not get his act together.

I frankly refuse to believe Malik is a better batsman than Misbah so if he isn't going to bowl, he should be on the chopping block first.

It's clear they're going to give Fawad a run opening though. They wouldn't have picked him there if they didn't think it was a legitimate option and he's had a more than decent start to it. I just hope it doesn't ruin him; forcing a young, talented middle order batsman with a brilliant First Class record to open the batting is a great way to destroy his confidence at Test level until he's 30.

Sri Lankan attack being exposed on what is now a flat wicket. They did the business when the ball was moving about but their seamers have been completely impotent this innings and the Pak top order has emasculated Mendis, who only turns up when the tail appears. Matthews doesn’t seem to do anything with either bat or ball to justify his selection.

If you have an inswinger, you must fancy your chances against Alam. Continually walks across his stumps like Simon Katich to off but far more pronounced.

Be a shame if he was now pigeonholed as an opener but unless he wants to bat at six, it is probably the best place for him.
