Broad does seam and swing it (and reverse it) a little sometimes, he's just not really a specialist in any area and as such doesn't do it when conditions aren't very favourable. I don't know whether he'll be a threat to Aussie batsmen this series, but I can tell you that he's improved immeasurably this year and he's certainly not as bad as his record suggests (or indeed as bad as some of the Aussie posters here seem to think).

He's just 23, has improved immeasurably in the last 6 months and I've no doubt that he has the potential to become a thorn in Oz's side for years to come

Basically, I wish we had a kid that could bowl 93 mph and average 30 with the bat but he's not a world beater yet and dont get why Strauss is giving him so much responsibility and potentially jeopardising his short-term futre in tests

Strauss still persisting with his completely moronic strategy of sharing the overs out evenly when he has FIVE bowlers and Collingwood is a better option than at least one of them.

No doubt he'll drive them all the seamers into the ground when we've got another Test on Thursday.

Bit harsh to criticise the lad for getting no seam movement, no-one else has managed it, and he's not an out and out swing bowler. If the pitch is a seamer, he'll get some movement. He has got a little bit of movement when he's bowled cross seam as well, well, one delivery yesterday anyway really got up and moved. He's improved as the Test has gone on I think, and after an erratic start to his spell this morning he's started to bowl nicely. He's not trying too much, just hitting his line and length at decent pace with decent accuracy, he can't really do much more when the pitch is as flat as this really.

Jimmy Anderson's forgotten to bowl the inswinger to the lefty as well this morning, just constantly bowling away swingers and not looked threatening. Time for Fred and a spinner please.

The rain will come. A massive band of it is sweeping the whole of the British Isles today. That said, they could get another hour or so in at some stage today. We've just had a dry spell of about an hour and a half and counting up in Belfast so the rain's by no means non-stop.
