Hoping England take the new ball, will run to the boundary that much quicker.
I think it would be a better option for them to keep the spinners on. They have looked threatening on occasions.

So, if there is no result in this match, the winner of the series will probably have 1, 2 or 3 wins next to their name. Lords will probably be a draw, say this is a draw, 3 games left, hopefully we get a result in all 3.

The only way I can see a win on either side is if England have a typical implosion once the aussies do eventually declare.

As for the rain, I keep an eye on the radar, its on its way but its fragmented a bit and slow moving, I think we may get a good chunk of the afternoon session in, but once it starts you can pretty much rule out any play for the rest of the day.

The sun just came out up in Belfast. Meanwhile, expected rain in Dublin hasn't materialised as Ireland and Kenya have been playing all morning in what was expected to be a complete washout. England could potentially be in trouble here.
Looking at the way the band is moving, it will probably hit Dublin about the same time as Cardiff to be honest. About 2 o clock would be my guess. Although it seems to be slowing down so it could be later

Congratulations to North, great innings, under the pressure of the Ashes, not the pressure of having to come in and save his team. :p Showed good patience with the balls outside off stump that he simply didn't want to play at. I haven't seen him lash out at one yet.

Time to go beserk.

Well done North and Patto! Have been sceptical, but has looked a different man since the second half of the Worcester knock.

Australia's batting temperament and application has really been the difference between the two sides. England threw their starts away, Australia professionally went on with things.

Time to grind them more. Break them today for the series. Try and bat to tea without losing a wicket.
